Ok i was ecstatic when i first got 85 slayer, and i headed on over to abbys. 2k kills later, i felt like puking, and just as i was about to give up, lo and behold, my first whip. However, my friend who was also killing them got 8 by the time i got my first 1. Whats the average drop rate, and why is it that i get them extremely slowly? Will i get whips more often in the future?

Known people with dry streaks which have lasted over 4k demons, drop rate is what, off teh top of my head, maybe 300-400kills? maybe im wrong, who knows.....

To be honest some people are just luckier and you could go 3K demons with one whip then get 4 or 5 the next 3k you kill.

I don't have 85 Slayer, but I reckon if you just killed Abby demons when you weere assigned to, you wouldn't feel so bad about the drop rate as you wouldn't be there solely for that elusive whip.

I'd like to believe the drop rate is 1/1000 or less, although it's probably more.

As been said time and again, the drop rate has been confirmed by many slayers to be somewhere between 1/400 and 1/500.

 

 

 

I've kept track of my kills/whips and I've killed a little over 10k demons for 23 whip drops. All on assignment, but I doubt that makes a difference, aside from a psychological one.

 

 

 

You've obviously been having bad luck, but once you start killing more demons, the drops will even out to that rate. Dry streaks happen, but usually don't last.

There's a thread in Rate This from Abyssal_Whip, he's got 100 whips drops now and said the droprate was ~1/700.

Using a RoW I average around 1 every 500 kills

5% difference? I'd love to know how you came about a number. The way the ring works gives you a better chance of getting a better rare drop if you get a rare drop. So, every rune chain he got would have had a better chance of being a whip. Theres no percentages here. It could be infinitely helpful.

Some people have drop luck and some people don't. Or some people seem to have luck with certain drops and not with others. Like you, I started camping at 85. While I was not getting any whips, my friend was getting them all the time. Made me really mad at the time, but it got me back in Slayer instead of camping and now I have 99 Slayer :thumbup:.

I got 3 whips in 4k kills. Call it bad luck :x

As Sumpta said, it's confirmed at anywhere between 1/400-1/500. That's been studied SO many times its unbelievable.

 

 

 

Kinda sucks that you only got one whip... but hey, I don't even have 85 slayer yet. Count yourself lucky. :lol:

They drop for me every 2nd or 3rd assignment - so the 1/500 number seems pretty accurate.

 

 

 

Go for the crimson charms, stay for the whips, you'll be less disappointed.
