Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for PC and XBOX

Atlast the time has come for us to get our share of the fun.

That's right, on Tuesday June 7th (2 days for those of you who can't count) San Andreas is finally making its way to the PC and XBOX. It's the same game that the PS2 owners enjoyed, but with better graphics, fewer bugs, faster load times, longer draw distance, better lighting and shadowing, and, of course, for us PC users, the use of Mouse and Keyboard.

I've been absolutely dieing with exitment for this game since before it even came out for the PS2. My friends are fed up with my daily countdowns for it, and I have mentioned it every day since October. I'm SO excited! I've been glued to http://www.planetgrandtheftauto.com waiting for scraps of info, I must have seen the PS2 trailer...50 times, and I've been preparing for this game for so long.

So is everyone else excited? Of course you are. What's not to be excited about, other than probably the best PS2 game coming to the PC and XBOX.

I've played the other GTA games a bit. While I only buy a game every few ages (such as halo 2) just for its replayability, I'll check out the new GTA just because it's one of those games you know you can play over many months without getting tired of it.

there are going to be some extra options, like playing on-line and stuff? GTA versions on pc are always more fun though, you can mod them and stuff. :)

It's all about the custom soundtracks. Cruisin' down the ghetto in my lowrider, bustin' caps and listenin' to Donny Osmond. Aaaah... that's the life for me.

I never knew you were such a baller 8)

probably check it out, sounds like a sweet game, and a long game. Plus Pc games are always funner cause of all the mods.

And no lol why do you always want to get stuff from John Lewis. Its over ̣̉300 more then than what i paid.

John Lewis is a great, great shop.

I got it yesterday. Wow, it is sweet. From what I've seen its shaping up to be one of the best games I've played. Ever. And I've played A LOT of games. There's so much to do and I've barely even left the area a few blocks around Grove Street. It's...so....goood, I can't imagine anyone not getting it.

I'm waiting for Battlefield 2 myself, but I'll probably get them both.
I too am waiting for that. It comes out 2 weeks from today, or yesterday, I'm not sure...

This stinks though, all the good games come out during exams...I guess I'll just skip studying.

How different is it to Vice City/GTA3? A lot of people said that Vice City was really new and different, but I thought it was pretty much the same as GTA3, really; same old "press jump and he jumps forwards a set distance" business.

I hear, this time, that there's new controls and movements and things... is that true? That alone would make it worth playing, I think.

The concept remains the same of course, why change a winning team? I think it's more about some extra things you can do, buy houses etc. new missions, bigger and more detailed islands, somewhat better graphics, what turns people on (lets be honest, it's turning people on, they're not just excited). New controls don't really matter, you can configure them anyway, new movements would be cool though.

My question is still open for the extra options such as online playing etc. anybody got an answer?

Though it is basically the same there are some new control things. When you go to a gym and learn from the gym master guy, he teaches you new combo moves that improve your attacks, which you have to press a few buttons to get them going, rather than just run up and start bashing. There's also things like stealth kills and stuff.

There's no official online play but as with the last ones people have already been working on getting them going. The two that are apparently looking most promising are San Andreas Multiplayer and Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Too bad they cut Freebird (The Lynyrd Skynyrd) near half-way into the so called "Solo" at the end :( .

*Trash taken out*

What is it with you people and your constant needs to discuss how you acquired a game?...

I must say that they've managed to improve the game quite a bit for the PC version. Being able to play your own tracks is great, though they should have made it more customizeable. The graphics are also improved, and the new anti-aliasing options make quite a bit of difference. They resolution changes don't seem to do much though, since the viewing area feels just as small on 1280x1024 as it does on 800x600, and the details don't change that much either. Sure, it's probably not worth buying if you already own the PS2 version, but it *IS* improved.
