Jimmyw3000
Well today, i sent a private message, and then i went to another forum, and tried making a post in one of the threads. However, there 60second rule stopped me from making my post, which was a little inconvienient, so I was wondering whether this could be lowered/gotten rid of. Also, this would mean that you wouldnt be able to send private messages easily, as you need to wait 60seconds after your last send to send another one, as waiting 60seconds at the posting screen doesnt work. The only disadvantage would be that spammers could take advantage of this, but we can easily deleted their messages and ignore them with the new PHPBB3 features. dsavi
You can mass-send pms, I don't know what the max is but it's at least 3 at a time.

Okay, but you still cant send a pm and then post in a topic within 60seconds..unless i made a mistake :?
dsavi
No you didn't, the flood limit applies to both PMs and normal posts.
Kill_Life
The 60-second rule is there to stop spamming and deal with spammers. 60 seconds isn't long. You cane easely wait that long. Writing a (decent) message takes around a minute or something. "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]
InkofDeath
The 60-second rule is there to stop spamming and deal with spammers. 60 seconds isn't long. You cane easely wait that long. Writing a (decent) message takes around a minute or something. Wonder what happens in the other 4 minutes. Anyways, it shouldn't apply to both PM's and Posts, even if it won't happen occasionally. It's just kind of stupid. Unless some bot is going to go around posting and sending a PM every minute, which isn't even harmful, and will be dealt with within the first 30 minutes for sure. What negative things can come from having it at both PM and posts? And not having separate lists? How can it be abused? Just wondering.
Kill_Life
I don't even know if it is possible to have seperate lists. Perhaps, but not by custom I believe. And every now and then there is a pm-spammer who sends fake/infecting messages. If it's been dealt within 30 minutes, then he only sent 30 messages. If there is no limit, he can send 100+ messages. Big difference. And between a post and pm. If there isn't a minute in between... Geez, one minute isn't long. InkofDeath
And between a post and pm. If there isn't a minute in between... Geez, one minute isn't long. All I'm asking. Why are they tied together? It's more of a user restraint then aiding against anti-bot measures? "Isn't a minute in between"? In between a post and pm there doesn't need to be a limit, between a post and a post or a pm and pm there does. I don't know if I'm misreading or you didn't go to complete or give an example. Separate lists should be looked into, as this kind of thing does get annoying.
Kill_Life
Why they are currently in between? Simple answer: It's custom. And again, it's only 60 seconds... "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]
Pan_Nx
How often does this problem occur? I doubt more than twice in a week. So is that 120 seconds a week going to kill you? Not to mention that it's not 120 seconds after loading screens and writing up your post.

Not to mention that it's not 120 seconds after loading screens and writing up your post. Just because it won't kill you doesn't mean you shouldn't discuss it. Why they are currently in between? Simple answer: It's custom. Well if that was the answer to why they are tied together and counted as one, then thanks.
Jimmyw3000
Well tbh, it happens to me a lot, as I use the forum games a lot, where my posts are usually short and only take about 20seconds to type. Same with Rate this/Blogscape, where my post is usually a lil bump/ a mark out of 10. But anyway, I see your point, and why we have the limit. ____
On the subject of PM's and saying you can 'mass send' I have to disagree, I tried to add more than one recipient the other day and got told I had too many...
