Bsc isn't very fun to chat in. Yes hobo. Bsc use to be great fun to chat in now it is full of "lurkers" and people are scared to say anything due to being reported, lep is a great demonstration for that. i was also muted for 2 days. just everything it has lost it's... pzaaaaa!? I do not know what happened today but it sounds like you guys have pushed crusader to his end. If you say something like he hasn't tried hard enough shut you're darn trap. that's all he's done this past week has ironed out bsc's problems i have probably seen him on blogworld than crusader for all this junk that should'nt be happening. I would love if it was'nt closed down but tbh crusader sounds like he is just battleworn and cannot put up with this garbage for much longer...And as for you guys flaming about power hungry mods. That is complete BS. 1st Sentry is one of the best darn Generals out in blogscape. he is strict as should all the other gens be when you have a chat that has gone through alot within the month and a leader who is to tuckered to do anything you need action. I'm not gonna lie i have let off one or two people but other than that I would kick anyone who broke any rule. idc if you are sorry or joking or attempting to be funny gtfo. It's not that I don't like sentry, refering to the part about him, in fact it's the complete opposite. Sentry went from one of my best friends to someone I try my best to stay out of the way of since he got his damn star. Once he got ranked he went from fun to uptight and serious. He's not the only one but he's the only one I really know well. The reason I personally want him de-modded is so we can have the old sentry back. mcneilp Posted August 4, 2008 Share Posted August 4, 2008 I suppose this is part of having a large community, with so many people using the chat there were bound to be disagreements eventually but i suppose it goes in our favour that it took everyone this long to fall out. I'm not sure why, but Blogscape/chat/world seems to have what made it a fun place to chat in when clan chats first came out. Which may be down to all the moving about from different versions of the original Blogscape chat for various reasons (which couldn't be helped) and people. Thats my view on it anyway. I like Iwa's idea of a complete clean slate for everyone. evil_mumm_ra Posted August 4, 2008 Share Posted August 4, 2008 i'll be running bsc starting tomorrow. i'm getting a list of current gens from th3, so they all will be reinstated as well as ANYONE i see fit. if anyone disagrees with this, suggest a better leader then. don't just say OMG NOT HIM. i'll run the chat from evil_mumm_ra, so that is the name you'll put to join. that way i don't have to switch back and forth and crap like that. i'm not going to take any of this drama crap. nor do i have a blog to post rules on. i'll link to a page in my sig eventually with rules and crap. i have cleaned my ignore list. meaning anyone who would have been banned without setting foot in the chat is free. i'm not going to take any of this drama crap either. i'll go through forum pms and stuff every day or whatever too. and i'm about to go to work now, so anything wrong with the chat will get fixed when i get back. Gl Evil_Mumm_Ra, just know, and anyone else, you need to understand certain things that I learned along the way. First: If someone is new to chat, and breaks a rule they do now know is a rule, they shouldn't be kicked, even though people say ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law, this is a game. It is not real life, it will never affect real life, and so sometimes you just have to rachet it down a few notches. I mean, if someone just made a blog, and hears about BSC, comes in, does a P Hat and gets kicked\banned, but they had no idea what they did was against the rules, and since it is a game, truly, they shouldn't be kicked\banned. Also, as stated in the first post, (at least when I ran chat) People were NEVER banned unless I had a picture, solid proof. And I think that should have stayed true, now you guys also have to understand, that Th3 is an awesome person, maybe he shouldn't have been a leader, but that doesn't affect his core being. Also, running a chat is NOT EASY!!!!! No matter what your mind tells you, it takes a lot of hard work. If you're the leader, you WILL get PMs usually everyday that people were unfairly kicked, accidentally or not. You need to learn how to deal with that, and if you think you're getting overwhelmed, then step down, people won't hate you because you were a leader for only a week or two. Also, remember even if you're the leader, you HAVE to be open to suggestions, and you MUST be open to criticism, and you HAVE to be willing to delete a rule, just look at the mistakes I made, God knows I made plenty of them. And even if you're love being the owner, you must realize, (no I'm not a Communist, ewww :P ) In this case, it's not what's good for you, but it's what's the GREATER GOOD FOR ALL BSC'ERS, which means, if someone is really popular, that doesn't necessarily mean they will make an awful owner. Just like if someone is a bit unpopular, they can still be a great owner. And as for the Fate of BSC, If it has really come down to the need for BSC to be returned to the ashes it was made from so be it, BSC has served it's purpose, it has brought people together, gave conversations when you're RC'ING, or Wc'ing at a god forsaken place. It has made friendships, and it has been a great chat, so if no one can find a suitable owner, then maybe we need to move on. People are going to call their friends together to have fun, because it's a game. BSC is pretty much a chat where most of the regulars were friends. What it looks like, though, is just that everyone's gotten too paranoid about everything. People are getting reported, gens are trying to keep spammers out, etc, etc. Really, it's probably just a side effect of running one of the bigger public chats.
