1.0 - The Logs

These are the logs that can be burnt in the Free-to-play worlds. Maple and Yew logs couldn't always be burnt in F2P until Jagex made it otherwise.

2.0 - Locations

Where you burn your logs is important for many reasons. Main ones are distractions.

-[ Legend for all maps ]-

Blue dot: Start burning your logs here.

Yellow dot: You should be out of logs when you reach here.

Green line: Running/walking back to the bank.

Red line: Running/walking to the start point.

Edgeville

Edgeville is the second best place to burn logs because there is a bank close by.

edge2ue0.png

edgevilleam7.png

Draynor Village

Draynor Village is also a good place to burn your logs. There is space but many players running around & talking can get annoying. Especially if you're high leveled.

dracd6.png

draynorcf5.png

Al Kharid

Though, this is an unlikely place where people are firemaking but it is very good. Not many people around and much space to yourself.

alk2po1.png

testxk7.png

Bounty Hunter

If you really want to get 99 firemaking as fast as possible and without distraction, burn them at Bounty Hunter. Unless it is a Bounty Hunting world, no-one is ever here and plenty of space to burn the logs.

bhdudemp6.png

Falador East Bank

This is a very good place to firemake as well. Close to a bank. There are people around (in case you wanna talk).

[picture coming soon]

The Grand Exchange

Some burn logs here but in my opinion, it is the worst palce to. The main reasons are (1) a lot of players here. This can cause lag. (2) Since because too much players around, a lot of movement which can also cost lag.

[picture coming soon]

If you want fast exp but still wanna talk with others, I recommend Edgeville. If you want to get 99 Firemaking and not waste any time, I recommend Bounty Hunter in a non-Bounty Hunting world.

Pick which location you wanna train your Firemaking skill. Then, move on to the next section :).

3.0 - 1-15 Firemaking

The only way to get from level 1 to 15 Firemaking in F2P is the following.

1. Burn 61 Normal logs normallogsrz4.gif.

Congratulations! 15 Firemaking! You can now burn Oak logs!

__________________________________________________________________________

4.0 - 15-30 Firemaking

This is also the only way to go from 15 to 30 Firemaking in F2P.

1. Burn 183 Oak logs oaklogsnt1.gif.

Congratulations! 30 Firemaking! You can now burn Willow logs!

5.0 - 30+ Firemaking

From here on, the ways you can go are many. Therefore, I have listed all of them. Of course, you may switch between one or the other whenever you feel. Like, for example, I'm 91 Firemaking and following the fastest & costy way to 99 Firemaking, but I suddenly wanna burn some willows until 92 Firemaking - don't think I will list things like this.

[ 5.1 ] Fastest and costy way

1. Burn 535 Willow logs .

-Congratulations! 45 Firemaking! You can now burn Maple logs-

2. Burn 1573 Maple logs.

-Congratulations! 60 Firemaking! You can now burn Yew logs-

3. Burn 63016 Yew logs.

-Congratulations! 99 Firemaking! You're a master of this skill!-

[ 5.2 ] Cheap way

1. Burn 144679 Willow logs.

-Congratulations! 99 Firemaking! You're a master of this skill!-

[ 5.3 ] The "in the middle way"

1. Burn 535 Willow logs.

-Congratulations! 45 Firemaking! You can now burn Maple logs-

2. Burn 96096 Maple logs.

-Congratulations! 99 Firemaking! You're a master of this skill!-

6.0 - Examination

Note: When you see a number UNDERlined, it means indifinite. Proper way should be on top but I'm unable to put the line on top.

In this section, we will examine which method is better by all means (exp & money): Full out willows or Maple logs once 45 firemaking.

Maple logs cost 42gp each on mid price and give 135 exp per log burnt. Willow logs cost 18gp each on middle price and give 90 exp per log burnt.

A Maple Log cost 2.3 times more than a Willow Log in mid price but gives 1.5x more exp than a Willow log.

__________________________________________________________________________

7.0 - Tips and Tricks

Here are some tips and some tricks I want to share =).

Tips

1. I recommend doing the last method.

2. Talking to others/friends slows leveling down but not talking to friends/others gets very boring.

Tricks

1. Once you are 10+ levels above the required level to burn the type of log you're burning, burn the next log you are about to burn right after you have burnt the previous log.

9.0 - FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions.

How long will it take to 99 firemaking?

I don't understand why you ask this question. Do you have a brain? The obvious answer is no. It depends on how much time you spend burning logs and how concentrated you're.

Uhh, exp per hour pl0x!!?

Also depends on what you're burning and how concentrated you're. Though, I have comed up with a formula to give a pretty close estimate and it is the following:

I'm very impressed lol :) The first time I looked at the guide, I thought it would be a bunch of small sentences and tips smashed up with pictures, titled, and labeled as a guide, but as I scrolled down, and started reading, ... I honestly was impressed. F2P guides always bore me because I usually know everything there is to know about them, and although I won't say I didn't know any of this, I can see how this guide will help alot of other people. Very detailed, superfluous pictures ... 9.99/10 =D> Great guide!

thought you quit tif cause the community sucks lol.

10/10 for your guide

go comment on my guide too pl0x 8-)

Saifzman.png

Perhaps you could add the cost of 99 using the yew, willow, and maple method?

and add the price to each log when you list the picture and level and xp.

I thought this guide would of been something like

"G0 70 Lum8y 4nd 8uy w1LL0w5 4nd 8u12n 7h3m t1ll 99 ph1r3 m4k1n6"

Good guide

Well, I did say I was good at making guides, eh?

About 10 of these types of guide (1-99 ? in F2P) coming soon. Same or better quality!

Just gotta finish a few pictures, pm a mod, and boom! AoW.

To all those who rated it 9 or below: What can I add/change to make it a 10?

If its the exp/hour formula or the pictures, will do those soon!

Really mostly common knowledge tbh. Remember, that's coming from a level 99 Firemaker. But still.

Also, pictures such as this:

draynorcf5.png

have a bad angle, it really doesn't give you a good idea as to where the spot is.

Also, there is absolutely no need for you to make two consecutive posts on your thread in such a short period of time.

About the bad angle: Its obvious where it is.. it might be to you because you spend your time in p2p spot and wouldn't recognize these -_-

Well, this is a f2p guide. There is nothing more to Firemaking other than using a Tinderbox on a log. What isn't common knowledge then? If you don't know, then make a better selection of words.

All that there is to F2P Firemaking, is covered in this guide :)

No, actually I Firemake in quite a few spots, none of which are P2P.

Then why write a guide on it? ;)

Good guide for what it's on, pretty in-depth. This is just basic knowledge for a average player though.

Just what I was thinking. :-k But nevertheless, it is still a good guide for new players/F2P firemakers. :)

True. That's just a small overview on firemaking. You can do many more things with fires... :D

Then what is it? Just making dumb shapes with it which don't last long due to the many changes RS has gone through?

What else is there to firemaking in f2p? Making shapes? thats all? =\. Make a better selection of words.

No there is a lot more to firemaking than just making them in a straight line. The other fm guides on Tif have them, might wanna give um a look. Just remember SMALL things make a difference.

You should include the Varok Tele spot. I got 99 FM and I did that from 95-99 ( found out about it at 95 )

In my experience it is by far the fastest way

Just tele varok

move into the middle of the fountain ( 2 distinct lanes )

burn to varok bank

Bank

rinse and repeat

Weild

Air staff

as light armor as possable ( preferably none)

Inventory

1 law per 25 banked logs ( if you have 75k logs then 3k laws )

1 fire rune per 25 banked logs

1 tinderbox ( in the middle as to reduce mouse movment)

25 logs of any sort

Good start but... You could add in how many logs one could burn in an hour if you where totally focused (by doing 5-10 runs at each location), find out which location is best. Then test out different methods of firemaking, such as using more then one fire starter and ways to minimize the the amount of time moving the mouse. WhatPulse could easily help with that.

There's a lot more that needs to be added before this rises above common sense and all the other guides out there.

Nice good job on that guide 10/10.
