August 14, 200817 yr Well, if something like that happens, hopefully Jagex will inject some rares back into the economy. I think you're missing the point of rares here... :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::

You seem some positive post here, but sometimes you see others like that. :? Wc'ing my way to 99 (Wish me luck)
August 14, 200817 yr There will still be plenty of rares in the economy the day RS dies... the only statistically significant way they get destroyed is by the banning of very rich players, which hasn't driven rares into the billions yet (except maybe the cracker lol, but it's not anymore). So I don't see how it would.

So I don't see how it would. You sound really sure that there will be many rares left in the end of Runescape. But how can you be so sure? I mean IMO it's more likely that the rares will survive to the end of Runescape but then again, I was sure the Runecrafting guild was going to be p2p. Look how pwned I got.

August 15, 200817 yr Since the economy is almost totally market driven, the prices can never be so high that noone can afford them. If noone wants to buy the prices go down until people can afford again then the prices go up. What jagex did with phats was arbitrarily set the prices without checking the market as to the current price. Still, people have found ways to sell their phats by offering up highly demanded items such as 3rd age items along with them.
August 15, 200817 yr Well, eventually, they'll become so rare that people won't sell them, or if they do, it will be for 100 3rd Age Ammies or something. Don't worry about it, it's many years to come ;).

August 16, 200817 yr More rares do come into the game you just dont hear about it. Its like like dupe methods are publicly advertised. ok and where did you get your source? please do share
August 16, 200817 yr They were never supposed to be rare. Yeah, that's why people saying "they'll just make more" are clueless. JAGeX doesn't like rares. That's why by the easter, the holiday drop became untradeable (bunny ears). :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
August 17, 200817 yr I don't believe there is anyway to dupe items at the moment. If there was there would be more than a few coming in. It would be like it was in RSC and people would be basically manufacturing them and all the rares would be crashing. So either post it here or pm me, because I'm pretty sure it can't be done. If I had found a way to create items like in RSC, I would do one thing differently: keep it in a lot smaller scale and not boost the same kind of panic. With a better organization and planning the manufacturing could have survived a lot longer, made the creators rich (rs and rl wise) and caused even bigger depression amongs rares. I'd be surprised if same kind of hype would rise so fast if only few limited people found out how to create items now. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
