feedmetotheforest
Been playing the barbarian assault mini game for the past week or so trying to get myself a fighter torso and I have frequently encountered a problem while playing, not with the game itself but the players. It seems every other game I am teamed with a person who only knows how to call the first option on their horn, or fail to use it completely. Now I know there are new players so this in itself does not frustrate me, what continues to irritate me is no matter how much you explain to them how to accomplish their roles, they often just exclaim "ya i kno" and continue to wander around aimlessly... Would be nice if Jagex implemented some sort of player feedback system within the mini game, so you know before hand whether or not one of your teammates is going to act a fool /end rant
Alg
I've thought that's what the fifth player could be for, operating the horn so that everyone else could focus on their tasks. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr

dippymister
This is why I've never been able to get my torso. I generally play around 1 to 2 games of Barbarian Assault, and then I'm so pissed off and frustrated that I just have to go do something different or else I'll probably throw my monitor out the window. It's either your example, people not calling at all, or when I'm defending, just getting frustrated with the runners running right past my food and such and not being able to do anything about it. I feel your pain, its extremely annoying and frustrating. It's a bit of a shame because if it weren't for this, barbarian assault would probably be a pretty decent mini game. :ohnoes:My Guide on Obby Mauling! Mysticblade
I definately agree with you. I used to like it but when they don't even attempt to listen to you and just say "k" and continue messing up on purpose it really is annoying. Isn't that why Jagex put a tutorial in for barbarian assault? I mean game makers don't add tutorials or manuals for them to be ignored, do they? Ravenkana
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Barbarian Assault is a good game, well designed, and should be fun. But alas!, the average Scaper is about as gregarious, cooperative, and rational as a Grizzly with a tooth ache and its paw caught in a trap. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

Mysticblade
I think someone on the old forum had a B.A. rant and he said that once tip.it had a B.A. event and he got loads of points. Plagueon
Agreed, I have the same problem with players in the other team based minigames like the Orb project. Unfortunately there will usually be at least one idiot in the team if you play in a group of strangers. The only feasible solution is to play with people you know. Harakiri
I agree...I ended up at the Queen, and some idiot ends up joining the team, and did not do his task. This minigame is impossible to beat if you do not have the best team possible by the Queen. And these idiots are always joining who are good for nothing except screwing the team... Imamonkey
I have been thinking of playing this game before too long. I was worried about being a noob at it. Thing is, I can actually learn and try. I would suggest using these very boards to find a team of people who are serious and getting a group of players who are serious about earning the rewards together. Then you must be happy not to be in my shoes. let's see... 23 high gambles 2 torsos every single penance armor from gloves to skirt I think about 12 granite plates Level 5 in all stats It takes patience. And yes, I get [cabbage] annoyed at people who just click through the MANDATORY tutorial and STILL don't know what to do. That's just sad. Ah well, the human body and mind adapt to extreme circumstances. That's why I can now solo heal on wave 9 and wave 10 with players of ~60 hp and in void mage armor. As for actually contributing to the thread topic, I don't really know what to say other than just be patient. I've found that sometimes, really good people are more inclined to recruit you if you have full penance or at least the helm, torso, and skirt. It's some sort of "uniform" I guess. SpacePope
I generally play healer and get everyone else to call by not healing anyone until they do. :/ As for actually contributing to the thread topic, I don't really know what to say other than just be patient.
