Obsedian Staff.. Is it possible to get from DROP???

There are 6 of my friends and I are having a DROP RACE and one of the many items is the

 

Toktz-Mej-Tal (Obsidian staff) http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=744541

 

 

 

I have officially gone crazy getting this item

 

 

 

Currently have gone through over 30 Ice titans and 6 unicorns in this process. So roughly 35-38 hours

 

 

 

NO Staff drop

 

 

 

I have got all obsedian drops 2 shield and 12 Capes now from fighting off the others who come to protect this mage.

 

 

 

So my question.

 

 

 

IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE to get this drop?

 

 

 

Does anyone have a drop pic or any insight on this?

the obby mages are the only ones who drop it.

I have killed tons of the mages also and never had one as a drop :-#

 

I still think that they drop them though, but I obviously can't be sure.

Lol, use the Bestiary from now on before you waste 35 hours.

Hmm. I would drop that and go for the rest of the drops, and then see if anybody else has gotten a staff. If everyone agrees it's impossible, you can just drop that from the contest.

Never had one as a drop either, or any obsidian item from the mages.

They are pretty rare, no one even kills them really. No idea on the drop rate, just keep killing them.

Thank you for this response.. I would doubt we would waste countless hours with out checking Tip and many other to double check are sanity

That's a possibility, but the thing is, we have Visage on the list and that seems rare enough as it is. Dean and I BOTH got that, but it'd be a shame to drop an item because we couldn't get it, when we got freaking visages... :(

It's OBVIOUSLY possible to get from them. People have gotten it. This is more of a thread about rarity and seeing if other people got it, etc.

I was killing Mage (Mej), even the ones holding the actual staff, last night for another 3 Ice Titans and nothing from them. Did get 3 caps and another shield total yesterday

They are possible, though extremely rare.

 

 

 

 

 

(You could cheat and buy the staff from the weapon shop, then drop it under where you killed a monster) :D

Maybe they were never possible? People just assumed it was as it is a staff, and it's a mage. People copied off that database, and the rumour was widespread. Or jagex could jave just changed it.
