WSD
Fastest way to get from 98 to 99 Woodcutting? Where? How? Which axe to use? Currently at Edge Yews, no other people so not much time waiting Yews to respawn - Rune axe in use I could go to Barbarian Outpost / Assault Willows soon but I feel Willows are boring.. 1,193,889xp to go
toast647
Do teaks at the jungle place dropping them after. Fastest wc xp in the game Also, get a dragon axe and sell it when you're done Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

llamster
You could also cut willows by Barbarian Outpost. It's not as fast as teaks, but pretty fast. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Seanthorn
Doing yews for more than 1M experience will take a hell of a long time, but give you alot of money.... Although you say Willows are boring, thats your best bet, as i don't approve of the tedious dropping of teaks. We're talking.. say... 6850 ISH yews to get to your 99, so that, at lowest in ge price, would be only 2.7M. Now.. if you are willing to cut that many, then please do so, as 2.7M in anyones bank is good, but... there are much quicker ways to get that money than cutting yews. If i was you, i would do willows, think... you wont have to cut another log again. (Well.. if you like gettign your own suppleis for firemaking and fletching... then thats an exceptionhaha)
ultimatballr
You ask for the fastest way but don't do quests (teaks are out of the question) So instead you are given the second fastest way and you shoot it down because its.. boring? I don't know if you noticed but cutting any tree is the same as cutting the others. Just because you have to move a bit more with willows because your invent fill up faster I don't see how that's more boring than cutting a load of yews in 6 minutes. In short, NO yews are not faster, if you were just going to do yews in the first place what was the point of this thread and question? Willows are the fastest if you do not have access to teaks, period end of story. Also, switching to a D axe will speed up the process. Not to sound rude of course. Apparently, my signature was to big.
cat666
Why are you asking for woodcutting advice from 98-99?. Just do what you did from 1-98 for a little bit longer. Unless you are making this topic in an attempt to gain kudos, in which case it's the wrong topic. Trust the Gene Genie!
WSD
Uhm.. Willows are boring due too much clicking on so short amount of time, at Yews / Magics you "relax" while it Woodcuts. Teaks? Tell me what quest and I will think about it. Kudos? Nope, this is serious thread... :shame: Dragon Hatchet? I feel Rune is faster but I can afford Dragon, money is not the problem... What I did from 1-98 yeah.. But I want my first 99 skill as fast possible. \
D Jay99
Dragon Hatchet? I feel Rune is faster but I can afford Dragon, money is not the problem...Lol. I believe you have to do part of tai bwo wannai trio to be able to cut teaks.

sir_bubbabob
I would suggest to buy a dragon axe, which you can resell once you have hit level 99 if you are worried about the expense. I would then recommend chopping and burning maple. By burning the maples you relieve the boredom of simply staring at the computer screen for long periods of time watching your character chop away. Of course, when I look you up on the highscores you are not in the top 2 million for wood cutting, so perhaps this advice is not particularly useful. WSD
WSD is not my username on RuneScape... And chopping Maples is pain... For some reason I get Yews way faster than Maples. Also burning logs what I chop to "relax" is not needed.. I can Woodcut 10 hours in a row without getting bored at Yews or Magics, I'v born for this. ;)
Obtaurian
CLEARLY you're going to go back to chopping yews. You get yews faster than maples? You find that a rune axe is faster than dragon? You're giving us reasons why you'd rather cut yews? You're asking advice to get from 98 to 99 Woodcutting? /facepalm To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. Yes, I get Yews faster than Maples - Yes I feel Rune hatchet is faster and for some reason Dragon hatchet keeps changing from slow to fast like it wouldn't chop stable - Unless I have something wrong with my brain.. Reasons for Yews, I don't get bored and less clicks in short amount of time. Yes.. I want my first 99 skill as fast as possible so Im asking..
ajk822
This is probably the absolute wierdest H&A iv ever heard. You find a rune axe faster, and only like to cut yews. Why don't you just go back to yews? Seriously, the fact that you've said some of the things you have has made me think that you really don't have 98 wc. 4031st person to 99 Thieving on 5/25/2008If anyone plays NBA Live '08 online on the Wii please PM me. I'm up for anyone.

ultimatballr
I don't care about video proof. My life isn't affected should you have 98 woodcutting or not.. what is bothering me is the fact that you are asking for the fastest way but then putting it off by planning on going your way anyways?? And if you think there is a lot of clicking with willows then you will be severely discouraged to hear that the fastest method for WC exp is Teaks. However, with the teak method you will be dropping every teak, yes all 28 of them, every time you get a full inventory. Which turns out to be 500 times more clicking than willows. (Could be more than 500 could be less it was more of an exaggeration) Fastest = Teaks + Dragon WC axe... (have to drop every invent) 2nd Fastest = Willows + Dragon WC axe There are you two options take it of leave it really. You will either do one of these or spend an extra 25+ hours wc'ing Yews. Apparently, my signature was to big.
WSD
Erm.. This is turning into flaming. Im wanting to know if there is better way... Better place for Yews? How fast Teaks are? I was about to burn them instead of dropping.. EDIT: And for how far I need to do the quest to access Teaks.. And if Dragon axe really made a difference and does it change speed anymore? So many updates since I used it longer time than 3 inventorys..

So many updates since I used it longer time than 3 inventorys.. the dragon axe is always 15% faster at a minimum than the rune axe. jagex stated that the dragon woodcutting axe is 15-35% faster than the rune axe.
