Peterblue
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but it's really been annoying me. Whenever people are competing for ore, it seems the lower mining skilled player gets the ore more often. This has worked both for and against me. For instance, I managed to be a level 70something(mining) like 10 times in a row. Adn then a lvel 54 comes in and beats my 64 mining 14/21 times. And normally getting it on the first swing, too. Not really a rant, just something on my mind. Click here to learn the best profit from MTK.
Zierro
Yeah makes you realize there's not much of a point to leveling after 85.

Makoto_the_Phoenix
To be frank, there's no point getting it past 60. So what if you can mine Adamant and Rune at higher levels? It isn't like it's available in large abundance, unlike Sharks or Magic Trees. The whole skill needs an overhaul. The way it is is just unacceptable. 123_x_pac
They probably have a higher mining level. Just hop or go to a different area. And I agree mining needs some new areas, tools and areas. harper128
Lets see, connection speed does have quite a bit to do with mining. If your connection speed is higher, you will often beat out someone with a higher mining level for the ore. Also, first swing has a higher percentage chance of getting the ore right away. I do not know how much this changes each level, but it seems to have been more prominent when I was a lower level. For some reason, as my level goes up, it actually seems to take longer to mine coal. Then again, it may just be perception as the ore that takes longer to mine becomes more noticeable. Also, because of the higher chance of getting the ore on the initial swing, the "double click", or starting to swing twice, seems to be more effective, as you end up getting two "first" swings on the ore, I'm not certain if this is true or not, just heard about it before. manitstinks
Yeah always happened to me for some reason. But Jagex now favors the lower levels -.-
Lacoste
Meh it happens, what are you going to do, frankly if that bothers you, mining isn't your thing.
Roseiah
It's all about speed. If someone has a faster connection than you and they are clicking the rock first, then they will get it before you. With iron ore, once you get to a certain level and you can one hit it, levels don't matter anymore. I think if you come across the situation, just change worlds. Mining does need to be updated but we are just going to have to wait and see if Jagex does something about it.
money123678
This often times happens in a short term test period. Also, mining is a skill that increases in (mining) speed very slowly through levels. A one level difference isn't going to Greatly increase your average speed. But because the levels take so long to get, people start to notice the amount of time it takes to mine the ore, the longer you've been mining, Because things almost always seem faster in hind-sight. Also, Someone who is 10 levels below you may end up winning 14/21 ores, but if you continue that test, You'll notice that the skill is kinda streaky. You'll win a couple, then they will. You will also notice that often times the person with the higher mining level will get longer streaks. They will start winning more and more ores as time goes on. Inuashakent
Rumours are stupid. Your sample size is too small. Mining does get faster as you level. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
upthebanner
There are 6 coal ores in the mining guild that I used to rotate around. The speed at which I could mine these did increase as I levelled and I found I had to go to busier and busier worlds so that they would re spawn in time. However I was a level 95 miner in Al Kharid power mining when a level 70 turned up. He boasted that he could mine quicker than me. He could. This was to do with connection speed. I notice from time to time when in combat that some players are actually moving towards a target before it even appears on my screen and I think this is part of the same problem.
