  1. I'm confused about what you are asking us to discuss. I've read through your other two threads (http://forum.tip.it/topic/330181-will-it-ever-get-fixed/ and http://forum.tip.it/topic/330181-will-it-ever-get-fixed/) and understand the context behind starting this thread and the frustrations you've been having. I saw a lot of anger in the first thread, and quite frankly the statement is still excessively angry in my mind. It's perfectly acceptable to be angry, but it is not acceptable to wish for the death of others. I have no authority on this board, but I'd like to ask you to kindly refrain from this harmful writing. On to the topic at hand, the original post contained the following statements. These seem to be mostly factual statements of what happens in this game, and then there is an opinion that something is a bug and that we (the forum readers) should file a bug report. I don't see any actual discussion content though. Are you asking for our opinions on whether this is a bug? Are you asking for explanations of the above statements? Are you just ranting (its fine if you are, although there is a dedicated forum for that)? Are you here to insult people (please refer to quotation #1 above)? I really am curious. What is the discussion that you are looking to take place in this thread? Thank you, ~money EDIT: Fixed some grammer and spacing errors.
  2. They haven't mentioned it. It would be nice to be able to completely reset an account into Ironman mode to avoid losing settings and the name of that acc. I agree, but I didn't see anyone discussing it, so I figured I'd check just in case I missed it. Thank you.
  3. Have they posted any word on whether you will be able to reset a currently existing account into an ironman account? Obviously this would cause losing all stats, possessions, etc.
  4. And probably a marketplace, to be honest.
  5. Well, as many of us remember from when we started, levels come really really fast at the lower levels. Oh my lord I've gotten a lot of levels in the last week or two, and I've barely played!! 23 - 46 Woodcutting 34 - 42 Smithing Hmm, that seemed like a lot bigger of a list until I decided to type it out... Oh well. Anyways, Pictures!! [hide=Woodcutting] [hide=23 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=24 Woodcutting"][/hide] [hide=25 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=26 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=27 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=28 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=29 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=30 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=31 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=32 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=33 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=34 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=35 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide="36 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=37 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=38 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=39 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=40 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=41 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=42 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=43 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=44 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=45 Woodcutting][/hide] [hide=46 Woodcutting][/hide] [/hide] [hide=Smithing] [hide=35 Smithing][/hide] [hide=36 Smithing][/hide] [hide=37 Smithing][/hide] [hide=38 Smithing][/hide] [hide=39 Smithing][/hide] [hide=40 Smithing][/hide] [hide=41 Smithing][/hide] [hide=42 Smithing][/hide] [/hide] Wow, expanded out it looks much more level-ful that the list above makes it look =P. Furthermore, I also reached my monetary goal and now posses a whole 212k. I reached this by cutting oaks. Not exactly the most efficient, but with my previous wealth gained me monies much faster that trying to flip would've. Especially considering I was never very successfull at flipping even when I had wealth (old account) =0. My new monetary goal'll be reaching 500k. As for smithing, I should have enough ores to be able to get to 50 smithing and still have some left over. Guess we'll have to see what happens from there. Also, I want to thank everyone for their comments before. Even if I didn't directly respond I did read them (just forgot to respond, busy week =0). Time for a new question however. How exactly does combat XP work in the EoC? Cause I've got a very screwed up strength level (~ 1/2 of my attack) due to me wanting to be able to wield my tools when I created this account. I tried attacking some weak things and didn't recieve any xp. Do my enemies have to be around the same level as me? ~Pentimatum
  6. Well, played for another hour or two yesterday. Got 60 Mining, so I decided to start on the smithing goal. Hence, the Knight's Sword Quest. Started out trying it with my rudimentary German skills on the Germen servers. Then I realized that I really didn't want to think that hard... =|. Oh well, still got me up to 34 Smithing. I've as such learned that I have no money. I've got about 1k iron ore from before powermining, ~7k cash, and a set of steel armour (that I actually can't wear yet...=0). The talk of the HYT chat is that really the only established low-level f2p money-maker is flipping (and that runes were a good start with low capital). Another option suggested were maples (low dungeoneering and WC) or else willows. Anyone have any other suggestions or ideas? Anyways, pics, [hide=60 Mining][/hide] [hide=Knight's Sword][/hide] [hide=34 Smithing][/hide] ~Pentimatum
  7. Well, managed to be able to play for ~ 45 minutes or so today. During this period I nabbed 59 mining. Only 1 more until the Guild! This also pushes my total level up to a wopping 259! Watch out Syzygy (or whoever leads f2p now), 'cause Penty's coming (not really)!! [hide=59 Mining][/hide]
  8. On this account? No, I've got like 30k =P Haven't quite thought about what to do for the smithing yet. I figure that at 70 mining I'd be able to mine ores fast enough to get the smithing without much effort anyways. Smithing should cath up easy enough. I guess we'll see however =)
  9. 'ello all, As it turns out, I've been bored lately. Everyone knows what that means! It's De-Retirement Time Everyone!!!! As I come out of retirement I've realized a couple of things. I used to love the colour purple way too much. Almost everything that I knew about this game is no longer applicable. I wasn't nearly as badass as I thought I used to be. My p2p character now feels limited and like a cheater in f2p. Uhhh, nope, that's pretty much it. As such, a new account has been born! Say hello to "Pentimatum" (mix of penultimate and ultimatum. I created it a while ago and had just never played it). I'll post stats and update the goals and such of the blogs eventually, but for now we'll start out with some simple screenshots of what I've done on him so far. [hide=57 Mining][/hide] [hide=58 Mining][/hide] Keep posted for updates. Sincerely, Pentimatum
  10. To be quite honest, I don't truly believe that the game has changed to become more necessary grinding, or atleast that it has not directly. Instead I would argue that the community, the users, became more goal oriented, and the game followed it's users in providing them ways to express and display their achieved goals. The game will follow it's users and community. There are people who a greatly fond of the current grinding system, and their are people who feel the current grinding should be replaced or else re-worked so that there is a higher element of fun involved. In my mind the game is currently at a stage where it's community is redefining itself. I did not play in the early days of RS, so this is just my interpretation from what I have heard, but it would seem to me that in the early days the community looked for fun in the actions they performed. Whereas nowadays, fun it looked for in the rate of achievement. The community has started shifting to be closer to this notion of maximizing XP or else GP an hour, and it has stressed the achievements of these maximum rates as fun. In the original scenario of the game's origins true grinding as exists now would be horrendously boring. In the current shift of community it can be considered fun. Guess I kinda rambled on there. Hopefully you get the point I was hoping to get across. The problem with this idea is that it would only feel "super fast" because you were used to the old XP rates. After a week or two the new rates would feel old and boring again. This is why it is necessary for a game designer to either increase a maximum achievement in these kinds of games, or else to play careful attention to how quickly the increase the rates as time goes on.
  11. Ok, yeah it's back up for me too. Anyone know what happened? EDIT: The G.E seems to be working for me, have you seen if logging out and back in fixes it for you Winford?
  12. I'm experiencing this too, so it's not just you. As to the reason I'm still trying to figure that out. EDIT: So I was hoping that there would be a post on the forums (Official) as the the reason, but those seem to be down too. EDIT2: Ok, the forums are back up but it doesn't seem to mention it. I'll keep looking though.
  13. Woops  didn't mean to do that. Fixed now. Thank you.
  14. The thing is though, that all Ceremonial sword methods are p2p, not just the higher level ones. So really the question is whether the burial armour is a better method than the conventional methods.
  15. Ok, so here it is. Basically, I haven't been playing for quite some time, and I noticed the release of the smithing update a couple of weeks ago. Now, I've been looking to train smithing, but am now f2p. So the question is, what is currently the best way to train smithing in f2p, and does the new update have any impact on said best method? Current stats that may apply, 95 Mining and 93 Smithing. Money is not really an object, although I would like it to take a slight application into consideration. So I.E, an expensive option, and middle option, and a cheap option. Thank you very much, A Lurker --Edit-- Accidentally said p2p instead of f2p on the second occasion of said word. Thank you Helm_Lardar for pointing it out =)
  16. I'll give you a blue h'ween and 28 mill for the red h'ween --EDIT-- Nevermind, got it from someone else.
  17. While yes, that would seem to be the logical conclusion to come to, the fact remains that it has yet to be shown that Jagex has become efficient enough in the detection of and removal of RWT. There are still tons of bots at many areas, LRC and Green Dragons being to examples. There are also many active websites and services that has others training the accounts for you in exchange of real world money, upon which we also have no statistics showing whether or not there has been any improvements of detection and removal. Also, As the post above me states, even if they have the best bot detection software possible, you would still see a delay in the amount of time from the bots collecting resources to when they are banned, which is clearly long enough for the bots to achieve their goals, or else they wouldn't be used anymore. Secondly, while reporting bots may help a tiny bit, we can tell from the given track record of from when a report is sent to when action is taken place that it generally takes at least a day for the report to have any action taken, and if everyone reported all the bots, that would just overflow the people responding to those reports, thereby making it take even longer for action to occur. You don't see the problem with the poll? While phase two may be decently well planned, the first one was horribly planned and implemented. As said by Ts_Stormrage, If you don't see the problem there I really don't think there is much I could do to help you. To be quite honest, this is a part that I agree with you on. We'll have to see how they implement each individual thing to be able to discuss those, so there's no use in worrying about them now. Also, it's was clear how the poll was going to turn out before they even enacted part two, so there's no use in "blowing up" on it either. We won't be able to change it. Really the best use of our time would be spent trying to think up appropriate and balanced suggestions on how to include the post 2007 wilderness activities, along with the other things that will have to be adapted such as the G.E, and finally, while I doubt we will be able to come up with something, someway to more effectively fight botting and RWT. --Edited Final Sentence to expand on possible topics of help.
  18. While they may not be rigging the vote, they definitely are biasing it. On the voting announcement they say and tout how 1.2 million people is such an incredible manner. This very clearly is showing it in a light that means that many people are in agreement with the vote. What they don't mention is that anyone could sign the petition without the account owners permission. Also, they don't mention that 1.2 million people is only about 1/9th of their player base. Secondly, they reassure people that the Grand Exchange will remain, but they don't explain what ways it will affect the way that the Grand Exchange will be affected. They say that they will remove upper and lower limits, but will they keep a median price for us? Also, they don't talk about the junk item market and how the economy of the game will be instantaneously rocked. Instead of telling us how these things would be implemented, they just tell us that it will be okay. While I do feel that the vote would have turned out this way anyways, I thought that I'd share my two cents worth though.
  19. It is stated that the Bulwark Beast boss is unlocked at level 23, when in reality it is unlocked at level 24.
  20. Thanks, managed to get the name Darwin, although I may change it back after the time, haven't decided yet.
  21. [hide=Inside the tent ... a bit][/hide] It seems that there's some kind of crypt or table inside the tent. And there also seems to be atleast three of the larger tents, a red, green, and blue one. Well, this picture clearly shows the blue tent, and I haven't done WGS, but i do seem to remember them in those colors.
  22. Ok, So 91 Smithing achieved after smelting roughly 83 loads of gold, which is 2324 gold ore, which equates to 130,608.8 xp. [hide=Level Up Pick][/hide] [hide=Pics of new area in Wildy][hide="Tent #1][/hide] Now, from this picture alone it would seem like the red tent is probably the leaders tent, but if we then take a look at the same area from a different starting point, we get ... [hide=Tent #2][/hide] There's too more tent's like the red one, one is green, and one blue. If you look closely, it seems that both the red and the green tent have some sort of stone rectangle in them. A crypt maybe? [hide=A bit more south][/hide] Now, if you go to the south a bit, you can see that first of all, ruins, then more impressive plants that don't seem to be dead. In fact they seem to be thriving. I know it seems small, and it probably is, but it just seems a little out of place in the wilderness if you ask me. Also take note of the tunnel in the center of the picture, I'll get to this soon. [hide=Capsule][/hide] Now, this is a viewpoint I've seen many times, with one speculation being that it is a capsule that is containing something. Well it actually is the tunnel that was from the previous picture, but I just haven't happened to see it from any other viewpoint yet, so I figured that I'd mention it. [hide=Banner]http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll227/rc-general/BannerisFace.jpg[/hide] Now, if you look at this view of the banners that are seen from the back in the hide tags of "A bit more south", you can see that the banner's actually look quite a bit like a face. Now, I'm not too certain of the symbols of the various races/peoples of runescape, and considering that the freminecks (sp?) seem to be the ones blocking access to the are, this may very be their symbol, I'm really not sure. [hide=Blue Glow][/hide] Ok, This one and the next one are both probably absolutely pointless to post, because they tell us pretty much nothing and both are probably just to keep the landscape from being to constant. If you go to the Northen end of the part that you can see of the new island, you will see that there seems to be a blue glow on one of the cliff levels, but not the one above it or below it. [hide=Ancient Beast][/hide] So this is something that has been brought up time after time, with these remains appearing all over the wilderness, whether it be the inside of the bounty hunter or around a volcano. There is nothing really to be said about the remains except that they are quite frequently placed on the land surrounding the island.[/hide]
  23. Ok, So today I smelted 4340 gold ores into bars. This equates to 243,908 XP, thereby leaving 135,721 XP until 91 Smithing.
  24. Okay, so due to school and tests and blah de blah de blah, Runescape hasn't really been playable for the last couple of months timewise. But today I got around to playing it. Spent a lovely time smithing at edgy, and got 1344 gold bars smelted. This equates to 70694.4 xp. Only 389,071 xp till 91 Smithing!!

    Vacation.

hmmm, when I went from 43 pray to 50 pray I killed joined it with range by killing the moss giants below varrock sewers. They generally die pretty quickly and drop big bones, but tend to be quite crowded <_< . All of the ways that don't include buying bones won't be very fast though, just warning you. I'm so sorry about the bad grades too =(, and I'll just inconspicuously mention that moms love chocolate ...
