Kaphias
Simple, will composting a patch that I'm having a farmer look after shorten the growing times? I've had some 30+ hour fruit trees and some Willows that have gone a couple hours over what I expected. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009
toast647
It has a chance to get diseased or whatever even if it's being watched, imo yeah use compost. You could even use super compost if you wanted. Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
D Jay99
I have composted them for a while, and I did notice a change in the growth times. Most of the time they're done after 14.6 hours if you compost them. I've stopped composting though, because I don't need them to be done growing that fast. I just do my tree run every 24 hours and even if I don't compost them they're ready every time.

Inuashakent
Use a super compost. If they get diseased, the farmer will cure them but they still lose a "growth cycle." I wouldn't pay farmers for yews though, your better off just using supercompost. Yep, was planning on using supercompost anyways. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009

A poor gamble in my opinion. Just pay him. As for the compost issue- don't use it if you only check every 20-24 hours like me. Your trees will be done in that time frame, period. If you want to be checking them ASAP and getting the most exp per day possible (and wasting a lot of time potentially finding trees which haven't grown yet and needing to check back later), then supercompost will probably shave an hour off your growth time occasionally. If you pay the farmer, all trees will live. Total cost: 720k for 56k xp. Seriously, it's not worth it. You could buy 4 yew seeds with the money you saved. xSxqPowerx
I'd definitely compost them. My trees were taking 10 hours, and my fruit trees were taking 30 hours when I didn't.
