Godslayer
Yea, practice on limited color shading. For each color, I decided to limit myself to only use two shades of it. Thank God for dithering. I wonder how the BG will look? Tis' very WIP, I have to add some stylization to the armour, you know. Bling bling. Yep.. You guys should try doing that yourself, I think it's great fun, plus I'm learning how to use a limited color palette.
apinagez
You draw it pixel per pixel or you draw using lines? Godslayer
Line tool, only if I'm working with something big, where a few misplaced pixels isnt that huge of a deal. 1px tool, if I have to have a load of detail, where one pixel is crucial. gandorf_101
well i dont really like your shading infact i really hate it... it makes your fine ruins ur posible talent.. (sry i REALLY REALLY hate to be mean...) i really belive u should work on a more common style of shading but then adapt it in your own ways... (and again sry if im being harsh just like your work and would love to see you get even better )
DementedHero
Its a nice practice, but I really think you should work with 3 shades. 3 shades can do alot more then 2 shades..
Godslayer
The whole point was to do as much as I could with only 2 shades...It's not as if I'm trying so sell this. You guy are too centered on what a costumer likes, instead of making yourself better. I like it, it helped me whats wrong with that?
Lordliquid
I'm practising dithering to now, but two shades is to less.. You should really try using 3. And remember that black and white, which you allready use in the lines and on the background.. can be used for for shading aswell ;) And why does it look like the guy has a condom over his head or something? Mercifull
I'm practising dithering to now, but two shades is to less I think if done well 2 colours is more than enough. With two colours you get 9 distinct shades at least. And if you count black and white too... Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Lordliquid
2 shades can be enough, but it will still only result in a quite flat way of shading. Especially on metal. You should atleast use white for the shining on the armour. And about the condom remark; the face of the guy has barely any distinct features sticking out; you get the same when you pull a condom over your head (Not that I tried, but I've seen pictures ) To remove that effect, you should have the hair stand out more, even though it's flat. And add more things as the forehead standing out more, and his ear. I'll try do an example later. "Do you really know me? I might be a God."
