Mutings/Offences and Clan Events

Featured Replies

Now, during clan events a lot of clans spam either to look more superior and professional or just for basic organization. But, don't you stop to realize that if someone reports you, you can get offence(s)? Tell me your personal experiences.

In the pure world currently this is a major issue. When pure clans are fighting, a lot of the opposing clan is reporting anyone who spams. It's really distasteful. However that sticky on the RSOF has helped out a lot with these.

I'm not to sure about the main world with this issue, but it's a plague that isn't going away, and has been raining down on pures since around March 08. As this is when it was starting to become common to hear about.

One of our high-councils got perm banned after being reported for spamming in the cwa arena. I haven't had blackmarks myself (yet) though.

What's wrong with Jagex? Why the hell are they banning or muteing people for spaming their clan name in the Clan Wars Arena? I thought the wilderness was the one place where jagex had enough common sense to make an exception to that rule.

Exactly, I don't see why they do that. I don't spam that much at clan wars as I'm afraid I might get muted/banned.

Well:

a) Jagex lets face it are completely hopeless in their reporting system, you cant even deny them now untill you get a certain amount.

B) They say they have the rule of people abusing the customer support system but I have yet to see anyone banned for reporting some one for spamming in a war.

BUT

Allthough we arent exactly friendly with rsc I do reccomend going to their site and pming franzk if you get any sort of blackmarks/mutes from clan spamming, he will get you unmuted and the marks taken off.

I kinda find it annoying looking in the chat box and seeing the same thing repeated over and over again, making everything else invisible tbh... :wall: .

But I know where you guys are coming from.

Woah! How does he do that is he a Jagex Mod?

Nah hes not a mod, if memory serves Mod mat K I think came to rsc when there was huge amounts of complaining and promised to sort out the unfair mutings.

Let's hope Jagex does something soon, because this is can become a major epidemic.

I spam alot in wars, as I dont usualy get piled until near the end or if Im sniping. When you have 60 people in clan wars you realy need to throw up spam towers so people not attacking can see the location, particulary if members dont have teamspeak.

As for the "epidemic" its allready been going on since the release of clan wars, certain clans have a worse reputation for reporting, particulay pure clans (not pure bashing its the truth). how ever plenty of mains do it aswell. Recently its been getting better, as clans dont fight those who report.

A Veteran, my brother actually, got muted for spamming in a mini war. He successfully appealed it later. When appealing these types of offenses, you must put "Clan-Related Spam" as the first line of your typed appeal.
