How often do you LOL in RuneScape and Tip.It Forums?

When you type LOL, do you actually mean that you... Laughed out loud in front of your monitor? Do you just giggle a bit? Or do you just think something is funny and you smile? And if you apply to ANY of the previously stated, how often?

How do you LOL and how much do you do it?

Myself: I mostly smile or giggle to myself in-game. But when it comes to a funny topic on the forums, I might as well just burst out laughing. :XD:

Strangers generally make me lol more, because most of the time I only smile or just think its funny in my mind. Most people don't really "Laugh Out Loud" as the acronym suggests, but hey, who really "Rolls of the Floor" when rofling? Sometimes, I'm laughing out so much that I can only type out a lol, however uncommon that may be. As for how often I say lol, on the forums not so much (even though I used to :P ), but ingame I say it quite a lot  .

ROFL is what I say when I seriously laugh (usually a friend who pulled off a crazy joke, "You make me feel saucy" anyone?). I'd say if I say LMAO I'd be laughing to death, but I have yet become accustomed to using that certain acronym, but this one friend uses it a bit much... Her excuse? "You're too hilarious!".

Too be honest, I'm a LOL addict when it comes to in-game. Most things amuse me so if someone were to actually watch me play the game - people will be confused by the excessive amount of smiling and/or giggling. :P And I'm kinda the same as you Seogege with using LMAO. I almost never use that term unless someone really cracks me up. Those make good times. :D

I don't lol at stuff other people say, if they say something that's really funny I say rofl. I think people why respond to a joke with just 'lol' are annoying :|.

I sometimes use it instead of a smilie ingame, like when I fail at something. Like 'Ew, I pot up, turn on piety and spec 4 0-0's lol.'

A ton in RS. Barely ever here at TIF. To me, this is more of a place for discussion than just straight-up socializing.

I'm just about the same here. TIF has a better environment for good conversations, and seeing something like, "Zomg u nub cake. LOL fail!," on TIF will make it look even more stupid. :)

Unless I am replying to a post in my blog, I never use Lol on Tip.It. I just think it is lazy language. In RuneScape however... a few too many times.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Very rarely. When I say "lol" it can mean a variety of things:

  • [*:3efs8rro]I consider something to be mildly funny or a joking matter, and I use "lol" to express that.

[*:3efs8rro]I have nothing else to say but feel obligated to make a comment.

    [*:3efs8rro]And among other things...

Usually if something got a smile/laugh out of me, I will express that by using "lmao" or "rofl."

"If you hadn't posted in rainbow I would actually give this a proper read"

"Colours suck."

*I remove colours*

"Where did all the colors go!? This is now 40% more likely to be tl;dr'd due to the lack of colors."

Since I've been on the internet for a loong time, I just lol anytime when someone says a joke to be "polite". Sometimes I smile, but This is my scale of 'funny-ness':

lol; lmao; rofl; roflmao; roflmfao.

If I do a 'roflmfao', I usually fall off my chair laughing, but this is rare

I dont lol so much in TIF, since in rs you just say "lol *hits enter*" and in TIF you gotta post it, and it's most defiantly spam if you just say lol.

Death should not be taken as 'the end,' but a very effective way to cut down taxes.
