I'm not sure how significant of a bug this is, because it's essentially the same as using it right after the round starts, but here it is anyway. I don't see how this could be an advantage though, you have to get your stone at the edge, and starting off right in the center is almost the same as using the orb at the begining as your hunting round, that 3 seconds will only make a 10 charge difference, and the games almost never come down to that.
