BabyPunchers
Well I've recently gotten my first Dark Beast task and I was wondering what to take to them? Whats the setup and should I use a combat familiar or a BoB? Any other information would be useful too Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Any other information would be useful too if your asking a question about what you need to fight something, it's always a good idea to say what your stats are, but as for how to kill dark beasts, i have no idea. RayOxide
Couldnt find the pic Robin, epic slow comp, its somewhere around 42-50 near the top of the page, it consisted of a hell of a lot of prayer pots :| I dont need a siggy no moar.
BabyPunchers
Yeah i was waiting for Kent too but I seem to remember him having 89 slayer :( And oh, I didn't think that was really needed since 90 slayer usually means high combats. Oh well here they are. Edit: All right, I'll look for it. Thanks for the help : Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. BabyPunchers
Ha thanks. Oh but I just saw that Dark Beasts aren't in Multi. cat666
They are always aggro and attack with mage and melee. However they won't use mage unless you attack them, as they are always aggro you won't need to attack them so don't worry about the mage aspect. I wear prayer gear and melee with prayer pots. I'm reasonable new to the Dark Beasts myself so may be a better way but here is what I take with me and my terrorbird: 3 super attacks 3 super strengths Approx 12 prayer pots (still haven't got it sussed exactly) 3 terrorbird pouches 1 summoning pot 6 mourner gear Alch runes Slayer tele This is good for approx 100 kills Make sure you have mourner gear on and no weapon/shield/ammy and go to West Ardy. Get new key from desk and use it on door. Go through and drop key. Change into your combat gear and go west. Protect melee and let them attack you. There is a multi area, dunno if cannons are an option or if they would all mage you, never bothered to check it out. EDIT: Seems to be people thinking there is no multi so I will give directions. When you get into the chamber go North, these are the ones added with the Dark Bow and are multi. The old beasts are in single combat to the West. They are awesome combat and slayer XP and drop some pretty good alchable stuff although rarely it seems. I've never had a dark bow drop in 4 tasks. They also drop a lot of blue charms but not in any large amount (10/100 kills it seems) Trust the Gene Genie!
BabyPunchers
No I just went there myself :P And thanks for all the information cat! :D Only question is do you think I should use a War Tortoise or a Lava Titan there, since there is a mult area further down? RayOxide
  I need that page! Obviously you're asking cat. But its a summoning question! *Waits for Kent or Bruno* ... ... ... ... :| :| Lmao probably tortoise for longer run since it holds pots, titan for quicker kills basically. They might completely own your familiar though.. I dont need a siggy no moar.

I've always just used the room right next to where you go in with 8 or so dark beasts and used a BoB. Never been to the multi area :o
Zaaps1
Well I mine rune a lot there, and I frequently bump into Slayers. If they mined the ore I'm like  but if they're luring the Dark Beasts away from me I go like  . Anyway... I don't kill those, I'm not that good at Slaying. Hell I can't even harm a Nech yet. But what I SEE the Slayers using is full Prossy, whip, zammy book, d boots, barrows gloves, fury/stole sometimes. They usually have a BoB, I'm guessing with P pots. Some of them also Cannon, just watch out for the Mage Attack if you do. Pray melee. They won't mage you unless you hit them while they can't reach you. ~It's Super Effective! Inuashakent
Defientely go with the BoB, and use Cannon. *Sadly 89 Slayer... Stalker! Anyways, not much useful info, sorry* [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
lordkafei
You are so in luck - I got my first dark beast assignment today as well (115!). I am wearing my proselyte top and bottom, slayer helm, fury, skill cape, whip, zammy book, strength boots. I took 3 super strengths, 3 zammy brews, nats/fires for alching, karamja gloves (in case I have to quick bail), holy wrench, 14 prayer pots (4) and no familiar. I will easily finish the assignment. OH - and don't forget your crystal trinket, so you can re-enter the light-temple. :wall: They are rarely maging me, it's well over 95% melee combat. And the mage hits are only 8 or so. If you can access the Death Altar, I find it's easier to come in through the Abyss/Light Temple. You don't have to keep extra inv spots for mourner gear that way. Just remember to exit back through the temple and reset the mirror. ;-) PvP is not for meIn the 3rd Year of the BoycottReal-world money saved since FT/W: Hundreds of DollarsReal-world time saved since FT/W: Thousands of Hours
Zaaps1
If you do decide to make the Mourner Route and not the way mentioned above, you should visit the HQ beforehand and kill some of the level 100+ Mourners. They drop full mourner sets. Take a few so when you get Dark Beast tasks you can just drop the mourner. If you take the Abyss route, take a Forinity (sp?) Bracelet so you don't get skulled. Better safe than sorry and you can always drop the 5k-worth bracelet anyway. ~It's Super Effective! Yes, there isn't as much risk as some other places. Still though, nice to be safe. And as another poster said, use death altar tabs. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

I can get there with death tele tabs but have no idea how to go about using the trinket and getting to the Beasts. If I can work this out I could do a task in one trip as I'd have lots of extra space. Also to clarify the mage aspect they will only use it if you attack them first, and then it's only one hit with a max of 8. As they are aggro 100% of the time there is no reason for you to ever attack them so you shouldn't see the attack. Trust the Gene Genie!

Unholy book was suggested to make your prayer pots last longer, which it does magnificently. Very interested in your path through the light temple. On the bottom floor, you rotate the mirror to make the other door white and go through. This is the only mirror you move, and you rotate it back when you exit to make the door to the death altar open again. You go up to the middle floor and then take the south stairs up. You go south and take those stairs back down to the middle floor. Then you can go north to a different stairway heading down. Take it, and you are on the bottom floor at the exit. You have to have the trinket in your inventory to get back into the light temple, elsewise the shadows will always push you back out. It's a lot easier to just look at the map or go there yourself. Just only rotate the 1 mirror and you can't muck it up. So I went through the front entrance and through the temple, turned the mirror and the door was white. So I went back through the death altar and the door is open still, however I can't get through the secondary door to the main temple without rotating the mirror. Once I do that I can get to the main temple but not back to the death altar. This means that once I go through the death altar I can no longer get into it at all. You say rotate the mirror once I've gone through the other door but it's impossible. Complicated I know! I am in process of uploading a You Tube vid to show my noobiness.
