Bufoman
I was wondering who has gotten this and when? It seems to be going around here, and I was wondering if it could have been from a bad advert or something on this site. For those of you who are not sure if you have had it, here is what the Pop-Up looks like: Do not go to the site they tell you too, it's a bogus site trying to sell you scareware. And yes, I did borrow the URL from some one elses website, so I will give credit to whoever made this: http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:IW ... =clnk&cd=2 Clan Moderator from December 15th 2006- August 20th 2007Founder of: Terran Gamers, formerly known as Militos Deci
urbestfreind
Reminds me of WinAntiVirus 2008 when I got it. Probably a similar progam. If it is, I got it about 6 months ago. Still have it (or the remnants of it) on my desktop-turned-footrest. [hide=Funny Quotes]So you sucker punched a kid in the back of the head? Captainkidd
I had to reformat my computer because I got something like this, in fact I believe it's the same thing. Except mine changed the time in the bottom left hand corner to "INFECTED", uninstalled Kaspersky, installed a fake anti-virus program and gave pop-ups every ten seconds. Rest in piece my 5GB of data I couldn't save. However I don't think I got it from this site, I believe it was from an e-mail attachment that I was trying to delete but opened accidentally... :wall: ~ Captainkidd

thrash-boy
i remember getting something like winantivirus a while ago. not sure if thats what it was but it had a thing in the tray and kept making them tray messages popup and had windows poping up telling me to install all sorts of bogus programs with unbelievably stupid and fake sounding names. i forget exactly how i removed it but i found this page on google for the couple of you with it: http://www.411-spyware.com/remove-win-antivirus-2008 not sure if it works or not

OT: Looks like a nasty virus, the popup looks pretty real on first look, although Windows Firewall doesn't monitor outbound activity, and if the virus "adds a rule to Windows Firewall to allow it", how is Windows Firewall promoting you to allow access?
