Perakp
I'm looking for a good smithing training method, that doesn't require much attention (no blast furnace), is relatively cheap considering what skill we are talking about and isn't as slow as smithing iron knives is. -gold smelting (gauntlets) -smithing addy bolts -smithing the "largest" addy item I can, addy kite, 3 bars each -smithing mithril plates anyone have suggestions or experience on which is the best before getting to 88 and obviously doing addy plates? GE Adamantite bar: 2,304gp Mithril bar: 1,115gp Adamantite bolts (unf): 205gp Adamant kiteshield: 3,150gp Mithril platebody: 3,380gp Gold ore: 500gp Gold bar: 181gp Thanks edit: fixed addy bolts price from "addy bolts: ~210gp" to "addy bolts (unf): 205gp"
Snipers_end
Now I don't know much about smithing but it looks like addy bolts is closest to a profit I can see
Perakp
Now I don't know much about smithing but it looks like addy bolts is closest to a profit I can see Yep they are, but they are also the slowest xp I believe. Smithing 27x10bolts takes much more time than smithing 9 addy kites or 5 mithril plates
ultimatballr
I found mith plates to be very fast exp and I wasn't trying to actually train smithing, so I would assume to someone who would be powersmithing then that's a very fast way to get levels. It will cost you some pocket though. I dunno if Addy kites would be faster or worth it for that matter. (Cost per exp wise) I don't have the calcs nor the time to make them but I would believe Mith Plates followed by Addy Plates (when possible) for maximized exp. Then again I am only 72 smithing. Hope I was able to help at least a little bit though. Apparently, my signature was to big.

kdb148
Fast smithing experience is always going to lose a lot of money. If speed is your main concern, I would recommend not worrying about cash - even buying addy bars to make plates is going to cost you in the neighborhood of 6 coins per XP. Your best bet for speed, therefore, is to buy gold ore, smelt, and then do the step most people fail to - CRAFT YOUR BARS!!! Extend the life of your raw materials whenever possible. I like to put a whole system into place, and gold ore was the center of it. Buy ores, smelt, craft into amulets (this was before bracelets, whose higher alch value may be worth the lower crafting XP), kill banshees for ess, craft nats, then alch. Brilliant system, gave me impetus to level 4 different skills and get a little combat experience in the bargain. Check out this cool browser gladiator game! RayOxide
Adamant bolts. Then when you have only a bit of money left, buy (same amount) of feathers, and (/12 of CUT rubies), tip the rubies, fletch the bolts and tip - I think it breaks even or has a slight profit. Takes a while longer though. I dont need a siggy no moar.
ladycai
addy bolts seems like the best way for you, if you don't want to lose too much money. 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
