This happens to me a lot. More often than not, I get more junk than I do useful items. The last items that I got that were really worth something were mage and ranger boots, and that was years ago.

The worst TT I ever did is forever burned into my mind. I was teleporting left and right, from Fally to Ard, back to Fally, to Varrock, etc. etc. I no doubt maxed out the number of clues you can get for one single TT.

My reward?

Six or so cooked Tuna.

:/ Needless to say, no matter what monster dropped the clue, TTs are always risky.

Everyone gets utter junk from TT's from time to time. Heck from one lev 3 treasure trail all I got was several colours of firelighters - not worth the effort :wall: . But I keep doing TT's - you never know your next one might be 3rd age armour.

Guess what? That's not that bad!

I have had 3 clue scrolls from rock crabs. All the same level and all of them rather short. From 1 I got a green ele' shirt, 20 nature runes and a coif. The next one yielded a black c'bow, black axe, and a handful of body runes. The last one? 7 nature runes and a black battle axe!

Three very different results from the same level scroll, dropped from the same monster. It happens and more often than not you get junk. If the really expensive rewards were common, do you really think they would be worth as much? Probably not.

Don't complain till you've gotten a lvl3 clue reward consisting entirely of nails and firelighters.

But the good ones eventually make up for it.

A king sate on the rocky brow/Which looks o'er sea-born Salamis/And ships, by thousands, lay below,/And men in nations;--all were his!/He counted them at break of day--/And when the sun set where were they?

I find if you do your clues for fun and I nice break from a slayer task that the pitiful rewards a lot easily managed plus as you get more used to them, you can finish them a lot faster, making a decent profit out of doing them.

I do agree that TTs are a nice break from the day-to-day game play.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that they are a great way of ensuring profit, not that this is what you're saying.

I blow through so many Law runes doing TTs. On top of that, I have to constantly teleport to G. E. to buy armor, clothes, and weapons to complete the Uri clues. Between the value of the Laws used, and the few thousand GP needed to buy the proper equipment for Uri clues, it's hardly profitable when all you get as a reward is eight untradeable firelighters and a black dagger.

Besides, unless you get really cool rewards very often, I think most people keep the more valuable rewards (Trimmed armor, etc.) for themselves, and make no profit whatsoever from them.
