Tahvo
Hey this is the first time i've used PhotoShop for anything really cause i just got it, but I'm wondering how it looks. I'm open to any constructive criticism, or suggestions on how to make it better. To me it seems a bit empty, i don't know why.. Edit: Okay i made another one and i think it looks better :) Starcraft 2 - PCTahvo.617. Message me if you want to play, always up to play with fellow Tifers. pryomancer
It's not what would be considered a 'proper' signature. It looks like you taken a lightning brush and but it on a green background, with some dodge and burn brushes being used around it. The traditional signature contains a background, a render (a picture) and some text. It's more complicated than that, but those are the basics. Don't get discouraged, keep trying and look around the Gallery for some inspiration from other users. Try looking at ThruItAll, Soa, Yaff and some others, they have good design skills that will show you what a proper signature looks like.
Tahvo
Thanks you for the Response. I'll definitely look and see if i can get an idea in my head Starcraft 2 - PCTahvo.617. Sam
Nice concept for a sig, though it's fairly basic. Pryomancer explained the rest. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
Cybellin
For a first time it's pretty ok :) Just keep trying and after a while you'll learn all the cool things and tools to make a cool sig :) Right now, it's kinda basic and empty
Gigajie
its just seems kinda empty...anyway...i just tried pixeling so go for it and just see how it turns out.

Stilev
basically the same thing, but you slapped on a render you gotta blend the render into the picture, and no that does not mean 'just' making it a have a lower opacity or making it an overlay
Tahvo
So, i need to blend the render in more with the rest of it? Starcraft 2 - PCTahvo.617. Message me if you want to play, always up to play with fellow Tifers.
Ouchy
Yes. Look on deviantART for tutorials, I'm sure there are plenty, especially since you use PhotoShop. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.
Tahvo
I'm looking at Cadbury's Complete Sig tutorial at the moment, but mainly just following the blending part. I'm working on one, but i think it looks a little more blended. I'll need someones opinion though. I'll Most likely edit this one (on the last one i forgot to save as .psd file so i couldn't edit very well on it) If any more suggestions come. i think it looks better than the last two, but whats your guys opinion? BTW thank you for all the feedback I'm very excited with learning. Starcraft 2 - PCTahvo.617. Message me if you want to play, always up to play with fellow Tifers. Ouchy
I don't like what you have done too the render, it strains your eyes too much. The background is far too bland, and needs more colours. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.
Tahvo
For the background colors i tried to use the colors that were in the render to help blend but i guess that didn't work :P Edit: Okay, I made background better (at least imo) and made the render more clear (if thats what you meant). Sorry for asking so many questions , but thanks for answering them :) Starcraft 2 - PCTahvo.617. Message me if you want to play, always up to play with fellow Tifers. Ouchy
The render looks better now that it was fixed, but it wasn't blended and just slapped on. And the background still doesn't look too good. The colours seem out of place. EDIT: Out of place is the wrong word, they don't go with each other is better. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.
Tahvo
The Brown looks better than the Blue i think. Also, i added a Border. Thank you so much btw, look what i started from, and now look at my new one Starcraft 2 - PCTahvo.617. Message me if you want to play, always up to play with fellow Tifers. Ouchy
It still looks like a mess...Try using a different tutorial for the background, that one isn't doing anything for you. Tahvo
Does it look better without the messiness or does it still need something there? Starcraft 2 - PCTahvo.617. Ouchy
It still looks bad. Doesn't flow at all. Like I suggested before, find a new tutorial for your background, that one is doing you nothing. Sam
^ But hey, at least he isn't spamming it with C4D's that apparently looks good nowadays. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
Tahvo
I completely redid the background but i might need to blend the render into it more, i dunno... Starcraft 2 - PCTahvo.617. pryomancer
It looks much better with the new background. To blend it, lower the opacity slightly, only to like 80%. Then use a brush to cover the outline of the render, in layers in front of and behind it. Also try duplicating the layer, placing it behind the original and using the smudge tool to smudge it around a bit.
Jopie211
^ What pryo said basically, the new background is indeed quite a big improvement. The text isn't too bad in this case because it fills up some of the relatively empty space, but in the future I'd definitely only add it when it's really needed and make it less big/distracting. pixel avvy by me deviantART
Tahvo
What kind of brush would be the best for brushing it around the edges? EDIT: Tried what you said but dunno if it helped.
