SacredFlam3s
When i get 85 magic, i will mage metal drags. can somebody tell me which drag to kill, how much xp per hour and how much cash, and if it is a good method for 99, or is alching better? walka92
id say mainly attack irons. they have a lower defence, and are faster to kill. i dont know the exp/hr or cash/hr [profit or loss] it is, but it isnt the best way to get 99. neither is alching. if you *really* want to get 99 mage, id say go dagannoth kings as a mage for exp and to makem oney, and then use that money on faster methods. such as burst/barraging[at a high level] or string necklace alching tops at maybe 60k exp an hour i think, where as say, stun, is 90-100k. enchants in MTA are similar to that aswell. burst and barrage in multi combat also have the advantage of being a great source of hp exp. seeing as your not 99 hp already, may aswell get 2 99's at once I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

SacredFlam3s
ok, apart from DK, how else can i make cash from magic? i am not able to dk, and i am not the best monster hunter ( 48 pray ftw =] ) DK's Drops: 7 Berserker Rings, 2 Warrior Ring, 1 Archers Ring, 7 Dragon Hatchet, 1 Seercull, 3 Elite Clue - All SoloGWD Drops (CS): 1 Bandos Chestplate, 2 Armadyl Hilt, 1 Armadyl ChestplateSlayer:1 D skirt, 2 Whip, 12 G Mauls, 2 Dragon Boots
Roberthree
Humidify is an ok way. If you're going for 99 maging metals is basically the same as alching but it gives HP xp and its low attention. Only issue is you have to wait for a visage drop to pay for your runes (Going 85-99 will get you one. it's like 10k dragons or something.)
SacredFlam3s
i would not mind hp xp, so far it looks like its a good way, its cheaper then alchs... ladycai
Not true, you actually spend less alching so long you know what to alch. Rober, I know how much I spent getting to 99 mage via alching, and I spent roughly the same amount to get MUCH LESS XP, the extra HP xp isn't worth it. If you want HP xp, go range. 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]

Ok, so what should i alch then? Im doing yew longs right now and i am losing around 150gp each alch, which is way to much... I get 58k per hour at irons on average. I'd be lucky to get 50k alching with all the distractions. If you go 85-99 at metals the drops will eventually pay for your runes. So Metals > Alching. JJG
Back in the day I did 80k fire waves at metal drags and got a total of 2 d skirts. Never disbelieve bad odds.
kdtaereo
Do not count on drops to pay off your runes. Always do some herb farming + mtk on side @santana_raphaelI'm retired from Runescape due to my really bad connection, maybe coming back soon
SacredFlam3s
ok, but what is a good thing to alch. Yew longbows are to expensive... llamster
ok, but what is a good thing to alch. Yew longbows are to expensive... Addy square shields is what I do (50 or so loss per alch). Rune meds are another option. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
Seraphi
don't mage metals, with d legs being a mere shadow of their fomer price, and a secondary droplist which is respectable, but in no way good, they are a bad option.
