Crandor is the island used for Dragon Slayer quest and is filled with monsters that most players think they will never see again after completing the quest. However this is not true, Crandor is easily accessible to anyone who wants to get on it. The process of getting there is described below. Crandor is the best place to go to train for any type of attack. It has several creatures for all levels to train on. The lowest level is the skeleton level 25. Next are the hobgoblins level 28. Next are King Scorpions level 32. Then there are level 42 moss giants. Last are the level 82 Lesser Demons. All can be attacked however moss giants are the most range and mage friendly (goes into detail later). 2.0 Attacking Guide: 2.1 Level 30-40: a) Skeletons: Are the lowest level on the island, however they can pack a punch. They also do not give a very good xp gain or a good drop item. Recommended weapon/attack style: Crumble Undead Spell, Salve Ammy(e) (Thanks Pantim) [hide=Look At Monster Stats, XP and HP points given, Item Drops, Average XP/hour, and picture of monsters]Monster HP: 17 XP points given: 68 HP points given: 22 Drop Items: Air runes, Bucket, Earth rune, Iron dagger, Iron ore, Mind rune, Uncut emerald, Bones (100%), Chaos runes, Fire runes, Iron axe, Iron scimitar, Nature rune, Uncut ruby, Bronze arrows, Coins, Fire talisman, Iron Mace, Iron Sword, Steel Arrows, Uncut sapphire, Bronze Bar, Cosmic Runes, Iron arrows, Iron medium helm, Law runes, Uncut diamond, Water runes. Average XP: 1 minute: Attack/Defense/Strength: 204 XP/Min Hitpoints: 66 XP/Min 20 minutes: Attack/Defense/Strength: 4080 XP/20 Min Hitpoints: 1320 XP/20 Min 1 hour: Attack/Defense/Strength: 12,240 XP/hour Hitpoints: 3,960 XP/hour Picture: How To Get There: [/hide] B) Hobgoblins: Are much like skeletons in the way of xp gain and drop item. They however cannot hit you very high. So they are not good training in the sense of xp, unless you are under level 40. Recommended weapon/attack style: Defensive and Stab Attacks. [hide=Look At Monster Stats, XP and HP points given, Item Drops, Average XP/hour, and picture of monsters]Monster HP: 29 XP points given: 116 HP points given: 38 Drop Items: Body runes, Coins, Steel dagger, Uncut sapphire, Brass necklace, Cosmic runes, Iron sword, Law runes, Steel longsword, Uncut diamond, Water runes, Chaos runes, Fire runes, Iron dagger, Uncut emerald, bones (100%), Crossbow, Goblin mail, Nature runes, Uncut ruby. Average XP: 1 minute: Attack/Defense/Strength: 232 XP/Min Hitpoints: 76 XP/Min 20 minutes: Attack/Defense/Strength: 4640 XP/20 Min Hitpoints: 1520 XP/20 Min 1 hour: Attack/Defense/Strength: 13,920 XP/hour Hitpoints: 4,560 XP/hour Picture: How To Get There: [/hide] 2.2 Levels 40-50 c) King Scorpion:Nothing really good about King Scorpions. Bad things are that they have no particular weakness to weapons. Also they have no drop item, not even bones! So it is probably not a good monster to train on. [hide=Look At Monster Stats, XP and HP points given, Item Drops, Average XP/hour, and picture of monsters]Monster HP: 31 XP points given: 124 HP points given: 41 Drop Items: None. Average XP: 1 minute: Attack/Defense/Strength: 248 XP/Min Hitpoints: 82 XP/Min 20 minutes: Attack/Defense/Strength: 4960 XP/20 Min Hitpoints: 1640 XP/20 Min 1 hour: Attack/Defense/Strength: 14,880 XP/hour Hitpoints: 4,920 XP/hour Picture: How To Get There: [/hide] d) Moss Giants:The best monster to train on that is on Crandor. They also have a great XP count! The Moss Giants are a good level for all types of attackers to train on. They drop bones for prayer and a low to medium, and rarely a high, drop item. And they have good xp ratings too! Recommended weapon/attack style: Fire Spells and also slash attacks. [hide=Look At Monster Stats, XP and HP points given, Item Drops, Average XP/hour, and picture of monsters]Monster HP: 60 XP points given: 240 HP points given: 80 Drop Items: Chaos runes, Cosmic runes, Steel bar, Uncut diamond, Air runes, Nature runes, Steel Kiteshield, Uncut emerald, Big bones (100%), Coal, Earth runes, Mithril square shield, Steel medium helm, Uncut ruby, Black square shield, Coins, Iron arrows, Law runes, Magic staff, Mithril sword, Steel arrows, Uncut sapphire. Average XP: 1 minute: Attack/Defense/Strength: 240 XP/Min Hitpoints: 80 XP/Min 20 minutes: Attack/Defense/Strength: 4800 XP/20 Min Hitpoints: 1600 XP/20 Min 1 hour: Attack/Defense/Strength: 14,400 XP/hour Hitpoints: 4,800 XP/hour Picture: How To Get There: [/hide] 2.3 Levels 50-60 You should Try to stick to Moss Giants, Lesser Demons are still too high of a combat level for your combat level. 2.4 Levels 60+: Again Moss Giants are a good source for xp again. However you might want to move on to something a little more challenging. e) Lesser Demons: Are the last monsters on Crandor and are the toughest. They are level 82 and can prove it. They can hit very high and will kill you very easily. Be prepared! They however are the second monster on the list of the most xp given, they also have some very good drop items. Recommended weapon/attack style: Magic and Crush attacks. Also the sword Silverlight will work, however it is not as affective. [hide=Look At Monster Stats, XP and HP points given, Item Drops, Average XP/hour, and picture of monsters]Monster HP: 80 XP points given: 320 HP points given: 106 Drop Items: Black kiteshield, Chaos runes, Gold ore, Mithril square shield, Rune full helm, Steel medium helm, Uncut emerald, Coins, Iron kiteshield, Mithril chainbody, Ashes (100%), Fire runes, Jug of wine, Mithril bar, Rune medium helm, Steel full helm, Uncut Sapphire, Steel longsword, Uncut diamond. Average XP: 1 minute: Attack/Defense/Strength: 240 XP/Min Hitpoints: 79 XP/Min 20 minutes: Attack/Defense/Strength: 4800 XP/20 Min Hitpoints: 1580 XP/20 Min 1 hour: Attack/Defense/Strength: 14,400 XP/hour Hitpoints: 4,740 XP/hour Picture: How To Get There: [/hide] *As you can see the xp gains for me are smaller on some of the smaller monsters however the moss giants are the best because they give the best drop items. XP Calculations The Formula for XP calculations is below, you only need to know the monsters HP(look above) and about how many you can kill in a minute, round down. For hour calculations: Creatures hit points x kills per minute x 4 x 60 For minute calculations: Creatures hit points x kills per minute x 4 4.0 The Best Place For Melee, Range, and Mage: Is once again the Moss Giants. The location of the Moss Giants is very convenient. They of course can be attacked by melee, however there are coal and adamant rocks to hide behind if you are a mage or ranger. Best of all is that there is only one disadvantage for rangers and mages and that is that the Moss Giants will not attack you automatically like they would with melee fighters. Moss Giants are located here: 5.0 How to get to Crandor go to karajama you will find yourself in the Karajama/Crandor dungeon you will then find yourself on Crandor enjoy! 5.1Map Of Crandor 1. Location of Lesser Demons 2. King Scorpions are around, also has a mining spot of 3 gold rocks 3. Hole down to Crandor/Karajama dungeon 4. Location Of the Moss Giants, skeletons are located to the east, also a mining spot with 3 adamantite and 3 coal rocks 5. (If you have completed Dragon Slayer) The ruined Lady Lumbridge 6. Mining spot of 7 mithril rocks 7. Hobgoblins and King Scorpions hang around this mining spot with 7 coal and 4 mithril rocks 6.0 Other Things: -There are several mithril, adamant, and coal to mine on the island and in the dungeon areas and almost never is there someone else down there mining but the nearest bank is in Draynor Village and that's on the mainland! But if you are desperate... -To complete the Dragon Slayer quest you have to use the boat to get to the island you can't use the shortcut -One of the most common random events of Crandor is a shade appearing and attacking you, they have a shade bottom and a shade top so you might want to stop and fight them. They will appear when you bury big bones -You can spend loads of time on PVP worlds on Crandor, just training on monsters and nobody is around to kill you so you can get more item potential -If you have a good fishing level use it! When you are out of food simply go through the Crandor/Karajama dungeon tunnel to Karajama and use the fishing spots there. Catch what you need then cook it and go back and fight Be sure to bring wood and tinder box! -There are tons of Lesser Demons and skeletons in the Crandor dungeon 7.0 PSI* -I do something called an MG hunting trip. I fully load up on lobsters and then go attack Moss Giants (MG) on Crandor. As I eat food the MG's will drop items that I pick up. Once all of my food is gone I use the home teleport and then go to the G.E. to sell all of my items. I usually spend 10k and get 15-17k by selling all of the items. I also usually get 2 or 3 levels. I use this for attack(melee), range, and mage it works great! -Silverlight does not work very well on the Lesser Demons, it hits less than a normal steel sword would. -Mithril swords, Black square shields, and different kinds of runes are the most popular drop for Moss Giants. -Going on a hunting trip to kill anything, always works better if you have a buddy with you. -Hunting parties make all the difference with Moss Giants, One melee, one range, and one mage. The melee and ranger give mage all the runes that they get, the ranger and the mage give the melee all the weapons and armour they get, the mage and melee give all the arrows they get to the ranger. It all works out pretty well. -The Giant Skeletons outside of the Green Dragon is the best of Crandor. (Thanks Pantim) * PSI is player submitted info. When ever I personally, or someone else has something to say I put it here. I only put it here if it seems to be true, works really well, and I have tried it out myself. 8.0 Acknowledgements http://www.tip.it/runescape/ for being a wonderful website that I have used many times to help with in-game questions that I have had Pantim for the information about the skeletons on where and how to beat them Chazzycaz for recommendations on the XP gain ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guide Made by Dragonboytwo. The_Maddest
Combat 60+ for lesser demons? :ohnoes: At 108 I still prefer moss giants, lol. Also, I think the mage xp in your title is a bit of a cop-out -- theres nothing special about training mage on crandor Not a bad guide, needs some work though :
dragonboytwo
Also, I think the mage xp in your title is a bit of a cop-out -- theres nothing special about training mage on crandor Ya but the special thing is the moss giants hiding spot, but your kinda right Not a bad guide, needs some work though : thanks for the compliment and i love to update things so what else could it use? oh and i agree on the moss giant thing, Lesser demons are overrated!LOL I just updated all the pics and the table of contents just updated the XP calculations still working on the formula, other than that I just have a few more things to do before I am out of things to do to it any suggestions? 21 levels left to become a f2p guild master Yay!Regards,Dragonboytwo

Owned_Nex
Pretty good guide for a lower leveled person. But you missed a few interesting facts. Salve Ammy(e) is best against undead. The Giant Skeletons outside of the Green Dragon is the best of Crandor. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. My keyboard is on fire. Want some?

chazzycaz
Great guide, especially for a F2p one. Tip: How about including the XP rates in the section relating to the monster, not just grouped near the end? Just kidding ladies, you know I love you =DGuide to Making Money with NPC Trading

Owned_Nex
Not AoW yet lol. STOP double posting. Its against the rules, spams up the topics, and adds post count. I know you want to increase post count to draw mroe attention, but its a wrong and illegal way to do it. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. Zaaps1
Pretty good guide, although 14k per hour isn't really anything special. I'm getting around 42k per hour at Giant Spiders, although I'm level 116. I'd say Flesh Crawlers would still be about double the xp speed. You have a great guide, with outstanding information and effort put into this. However I don't exactly think you picked the best topic. ~It's Super Effective! Inuashakent
Well I can't rate on the validity of the xp rates and such, but it's a great guide! However, the format is a bit clogged up and hard to read... Try spacing it out a little more. Monster HP: 31 XP points given: 124 --- Useless HP points given: 41 --- Useless Drop Items: None. Average XP: 1 minute: Attack/Defense/Strength: 248 XP/Min --- Everything with /minute is useless, you already have times on each hour. Hitpoints: 82 XP/Min 1 hour: Attack/Defense/Strength: 14,880 XP/hour Hitpoints: 4,920 XP/hour --- You should remove everything on HP, it's pretty useless as well. Picture: Again, great guide. =D> [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]

mister_moocky
I found that at mid levels, the moss giants are excellent range and melee xp, not as good as flesh crawlers but they have good drops for f2p. Most of it stacks, you can alch the mith and black, and the only other thing worth picking up is the steel bars. The big bones are nice prayer experience, and finding an uncrowded world isn't too hard. Also, dragonboy, your signature is way too big; I believe the limit is 200x450 pixels. quit
dragonboytwo
ty for all the ideas i will try to space things out a little bit more and i am currently running 20 minute tests and also thank you mister_moocky for telling me about the sig before i got in trouble ---------------------- updates: i have run 20 minute tests i must confess the 1 minute was kinda stupid spaced everything out a little bit more cause of all the complaints, but keep them coming in! 21 levels left to become a f2p guild master Yay!Regards,Dragonboytwo
