Thought Of Trade Limit Taken off at Christmas?

Featured Replies

I talked to a friend, and she said that Trade limit is being taken off. But i asked where she heard that and she said a friend. Now i don't think that this is true, but what you think of Trade limit being taken off only at Christmas?

EDIT: Christmas is the best time of the year, and i am sure there is many players in Runescape community who would want to give present to friends. There might be RWT, but maybe it's possible to prevent most of RWT?

Umm... No?

I also heard a friend say that the trapdoor under varrock has a Kalphite King.

EDIT: To me taking trade limit off at Christmas with certain restrictions would rock.

I think taking off the trade limit at christmas would just be a christmas present to RWTers.

I cant believe im saying this, but I couldnt care less if they took the trade limit away.

I like it.

On a different note, they wont be taking it off.

It would be pretty cool, if it happened. Which it won't.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

It would be a nice thing to do, that way people could give eachother gifts. I dont think if Jagex took off the restrictions for one day that stolen credit cards would all of a sudden storm the game and cuase the problems they were blamed for in the past... But it will never happen

Yeah that's true, but you gotta look at other side of the case too. It's not just RWT, there is players who want to give presents to their friends.

But couldn't Jagex somehow try to prevent RWT?

My cousin's friend's brother's aunt has a pet cat that was in the same vet's office as the dog of one of the guys who's frined works for JaGex and this has been confirmed [/sarcasm]

Uh, would be nice, but it will not likely happen "as a christmas present" or anytime soon. Although if they were to do it would have to be a secret/surprise so no one could RWT. I know my brother has about 85m on an account he no longer uses, I would certainly like to "borrow" from him. ;)

Hmm, christmas presents. Yeah you have a point about that.

With the trade limit taken away, there is no way of stopping RWTers though since they could call it a "christmas Present" themselves. ;)

Everyone here is absolutly right, no way JaGeX is going to take trade limits off, not even for Christmas only, and I've grown fond of the trade limits too :D , especialy as a level 3 skiller, wearing a santa, I've had experience like this on a different level 3 skiller with a santa, and had so many people commenting on my character, stuff like:

"Hacker! give the santa back to whoever it belong stoo!"

or

"Another hacker...".

Anyway, I highly doubt JaGeX is going to take trade limits off, atleast for the next 3-4 years...

Everyone is right, but the thought just hit me and i found it nice. But yeah it would be to much RWT and to little presents.

I guess Jagex have done their thing. As they have given us 60K cash per 15 min =D>

That would be interesting. Let's say Jagex takes off the restrictions for 24 hours, they could prepare by partitioning some databanks to keep all the trade logs from that day in their system. That way they could single out some RWTers and perm. ban all their accounts. Of course there would be millions of trade logs, but atleast it's something manageable compared to any other day.

If they took off the restrictions any other day RWTers would get suspicious, but this way they'd be clueless. Of course there would be mixups with real players giving gifts, but i'm sure they could prepare some kind of script to single out the suspicious trades. I dunno, it could work.

That's a start from my view.

I had idea of "Presents", which Santa Claus sold for 2m each. Each Present is special. They can contain certain items.

Example:

Present 1: You could get Bandos chest, Plate,Boots, Arma plate,Arma helm, and Arma skirt. And chance of getting 1 of these is 1/15

So players could buy eachother presents and hope for them getting it. Also this would make RWT not transfer items

But that's just a idea and it needs to be worked on well to be flawless.

They should make free trade between two people possible if they both have a quest cape.

Maybe in future, but with the quests we got now i disagree. Maybe with higher Quest points we can do that?

276 Quest points (With Chrismas quest) is not hard to get. It takes alot of time, that i know but it's not impossible. And RWT can get someone to do that dirty work.

But higher quest points require higher skills, so maybe with 350-400 quest points we can do that?

I wish. Then I could get my friend to give me back my p-hat -.-

It takes around 300 hours to get a quest cape(not including the skills needed which is another 100 hours? They auto for 100 hours, then get banned.

The problem with autoing before jagex imposed the trade limit was the rune ess mining bots.

It took 30 minutes to creatoe one and do the quest; i. e. faster than jagex could ban them.

kk my bad. I was exaggerating, thanks for correcting me though. But that sounds nice Bruno, i like your thinking.

Most likely not ... rwting would exist for that one day, and it might not even be botting, it could be some lvl 138 selling his stuff for rl cash. Who knows?

Well, that is a possibility. But i don't think there's many players with high quest points (Which means high skills) who would throw away their account that easily. Even if that was to happend, RWT company would have to pay loads for that account id assume.

I must've hit a quantum time warp transporting me to the runescape forums. I've heard of stupid speculation, but you're about six light years away from common sense.

It was just a thing my friend said, and i did not believe it. So i thought we could discuss it and see if having Trade limit off at Christmas is bad or good and in what ways.

How am i six light years away from common sense because of that?

As some of you might already know, and some may not, those sweatshop workers and autoers bought their membership with stolen creditcards. Credit card companies threatened jagex with a boycot( which would mean their death since their member's income would disappear).

You don't have that problem with the 50k? people that have a quest cape. That will be only like 1k people willing to sell their account.

Throw in another few hard quests and you're set.
