Mmm I don't think it is Firefox. If it was, then there would be Firefox on is somewhere. Methinks it's a virus site.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Nadril is correct, it's a security feature that's now built-in to Firefox.

How long has it been a feature? I seem to recall seeing it in earlier versions of FF. Or maybe I'm mixing the Google list of malicious sites with this, I know I've been blocked from a bad site at least once by Google.

It's kind of a mix between the two. I believe the feature has been in there since Firefox 3, but they use Google's page diagnostics to check if they should block it or not, so the two features are essentially one in the same, just Firefox checks for dodgy stuff when you load the domain rather than Google only checking when you use one of their search results.

.us or .com?

The .com isn't very safe according to WOT.

I used the .us a while ago, worked without a problem.

Somehow you wandered off imageshack by clicking something and were taken to a page that disguises itself as a fake antivirus website.

fyi chrome has a similar thing built in now too, seems like it's going to be something common for the browsers.

Use a different image host like tinypic? Looks more a like an issue that's being caused by a faulty/bugged DNS.
