Questions about barrows armor

Featured Replies

Hey,i'm planning to buy a set,tho which one i'm not sure,i'm leaning towards a Guthan set?since it heals and it's good,i'm going to use it for training, pest control, barrows, and maybe slayer, what do you think?

thanks.

Well guthans set should only be used to heal. (My personal opinion) but you can switch out the spear for a Whip and Defender.

Go ahead and get your guthans its probably the most versatile set out of all of them.

You won't need it for pest control though using any barrows armor there is stupid (unless it Dharoks) since you won't lose anything if you die and you should be trying to maximize your str and attack bonuses.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

Yep man i won't use it on PC,thanks,i will get the Guthan set,but do i have to pay 330k for every 15 hours?

When you repair always use an armor stand in someones house.

If you cant find a house, there is always one open in W31 Yanille. The house with the alter there will 9.9 times out of 10 have a armor stand. Just ask the owner where it is.

It really depends on your smithing level. The higher smithing you are the cheaper it is to repair on an armor stand. Don't worry about it really, that 15 hours is a loong time.

So how much does it costs when i repair it at someone's house?

Cybermullet.png

wait, your stats in your sig say that you cant wear it...?

you need 70 attack for the weapons.

and besides, it all depends what you want.

karils is good for mage based monsters, but only if you have the spare money.

ahrims is good for pking.

guthans is good for dks and bandos tanking, but has mostly been made obsolete on normal monsters, due to bunyips and unicorns.

torags is a staple set for most slayers, the plate and legs are awsome defense.

veracs is used for barrows, dks(sometimes), and the skirt and helm are used for many things(mostly bosses)

and dharoks is used for pking, and some other things, powertraining, fun.

the repair cost for a full set normally is 330k, the price in someones house is equivilent to your smithing level.

the price is halved at 99 smithing.

At Level 54 smithing and my Dharok plate down to 75, it cost me 18k to repair.

Not sure if that helps, but will give you a rough estimate.

Actually i reached 70 Defence but the siggy didn't update yet,and working on 70 attack,

anyway,i don't think i understand what do you mean by saying it's been made obsolete on normal monsters due to bunyips and unicorns, explain please?

bunyip heals you just as well, without needing to carry around an extra set of armour.

not to say guthans dosn't have its uses, but its just not as useful as it used to be.

Its useful for him as he doesn't have very high summoning, it's not even ranked.

Best to use it till you have 68 summoning, then sell it and use bunyip from then on.

15 hours of fighting combat!

if you range in guthans for some reason it will degrade

15 hours of combat takes a long long time

It only counts(15 hours) if i fight, but if i wear it just for the heck of it,it won't degrade, right?

That's right - 15 Hours combat time... which is quite a hefty amount of time :D

No. You can't use a combat familiar if you have a bunyip or unicorn, so Guthan's is worth keeping.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

the cost reduction is half of your smithing lvl

50 smith=25% off

99smith=50% off

1100 total achieved 03/02/09 880thousandth to reach it :P

1200 total achieved 29/09/11 1.23millionth to reach it :P
