Fix my Computer please?

Whenever I "wake it up" from hibernation, the fan makes some really loud noise, and it will stay like that until I bang on it, or shut it off. What can I do to fix it? It started making noise after a glass paperweight fell on it, but :-#

Would I open it up? If so, how? I only use computers, not work on them. Thanks :)

My guess is a cord or something might just be in the way of a fan.

Or a piece of the paperweight is lodged in the fan somewhere, or some other object. Depending on how hard it got hit with the paperweight, a small little piece could be scraping the blades of the fan. Fan could also be displaced from the paperweight as well.

You should open it up and just check for general damages and things that would cause it to make noise. Turning on the comp on without the case side on and seeing if the fan spin as it makes noise is a good idea, but don't stick your hand in there at all.

There's more than one fan in your computer, do you know exactly which one is making the noise?

Theres the fan in your psu, your graphics card if you have one, your case fan, your cpu fan...

****, just knocked my TV remote on to it as I was about to post the reply below >_>..

The paperweight didn't break, it just hit it with a little "plunk". The fan that is making noise is the one right in the back, near the vent opening.

There is also the barbaric way of just breaking the fans...but thats your last resort...and if you go crazy.

Why would he break a fan when he can just unplug it?
