Tesset
I'm hoping to get 80 magic from my current 72, for gwd/miths. I'm wanting to know, can I do this and profit in any way? Or do I have to lose money/break even, to get it in any real time? Time really isn't much of a factor as long as it isn't going to take 3 hours to get a level. Along those lines, should I stick with 80 defense, or go all the way to 85? I'm 55k to 80, but have no melee skills(70 attack, 71 strength), so I'm reluctant to train it again. Though I would still be training it with melee, not mage/range. Thanks My skin is finally getting softI'll scrub until the damn thing comes off
Cptbaker08
The only way i can see it is to use fire bolt on metal dragons and hope for some good drops other wise you will lose money. Unless you mine all your pure essence and craft all the runes yourself. P4duke
Stick with 80. DON'T TRAIN DEF VIA MAGE. I think charging orbs gives some profit? Not sure though how much
Tesset
wow, I need to stop asking defense questions w/ other skills involved, it always confuses people. I didn't think about maging metals, I may go with that. Charging orbs, which would I charge? I have all the levels for it, just which should I do? I check profit in a moment My skin is finally getting softI'll scrub until the damn thing comes off
Slayer_Jesse
i'm GUESSING airs because its the highest lvl one, and not too annoying to bank. Tesset
Fires would be more profitable, but airs are higher xp. So which is better? I'm definitely going to do that instead of mage metals, higher profit without luck requirement. unless there is a better idea still there. edit:Fires are about 2m more profitable. That's what I'm doing, unless there is another option for profiting with mage. ultimatballr
Maging Rex (Daggonath King, melee) seems like a pretty steady profit to me. I have 2 or 3 friends that are doing this ATM. Pulling at least an axe each trip I am sure they come to profit pretty nicely. As for defence.. I don't see why not to train it to 85. I mean 99 defence was my first 99 melee stat I got it at 90 att and 80 str. So my levels were a bit better than you but it wasn't the fastest experience to get. Mine as well get 85 def, I don't see any downside really. Apparently, my signature was to big.
warrior5024
Mage Training arena is fun. I did it to get exp at my lower levels, and enjoyed it alot. Earned my own boots, and sold many other pairs. Get bones to peaches first, then work on your rewards. So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb. teatonev
You can get 40k exp/h making teletabs. Used to make 350k gp but not up to speed on prices...

Fires take way more time unless you have over 81 agility (Going to black dragons in taverly dungeon then bank....will take a very long time for 1 trip) Airs are easier, more xp and still profitable. They are at black demons in edgeville dungeon. Did you actually count the 3 cosmic runes used for that when you said you are going to profit 2m? kdb148
Yeah, the air obelisk is the fastest obelisk to get to, WAY faster than fire, and you will get the most XP and money per hour this way. I also suspect that air orbs sell much better than the other kinds, because they give the most crafting XP when made into battlestaffs. You might also consider buying molten glass and blowing your own orbs, if you want some crafting XP. It will cut into your profits to the tune of about 120 gp per orb, but it's fast experience since you never have to move from the bank. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
