Stupid Accumulator. And losing ammo.

I have issues with the accumulator and breaking ammo.

The accumulator doesn't work over obstacles, nor does it pick up all the ammo I fire, even without an obstacle.

I just hate how it just doesn't do those two things. It would be so convenient if it did, but it doesn't. Especially the accumulator vs. obstacle thing.

Breaking ammo. When an ammo "breaks," it disappears out of the game. There is a 20% chance of it happening. I hate this too, because I always lose more than 20% of the things I fire, due to my bad luck. Every fire giant trip results in losing more than 200 of any ammunition. It's very annoying.

This is why I hate range. I abhore the task of running out from cover to pick up my ammo only to seek shelter again so can kill the next monster. It takes time and is tedious. I am also lothe to not pick up the ammo. I'm cheep, thats how I got dragon chain when it was 8m when my daily income ammounts to MTK and maybe 70k if I mine some fallen stars.

I almost prefer mage, because there is not option about picking up ammo, it is simply gone. I can't even leve iron behind, and barely would I be able to loose bronze if I used it.

I don't think it's 20%, it is different for different types. Still, its like smelting iron without superheat of ROF, you always seem to loose more than 50%.

It picks up the VAST majority of ammo. And with today's healing methods, your usually better off not using a safespot anyway.

Certainly a huge improvement over no accumulator; think of places like PC.

And it has the highest Range attack... people were using Fire capes before, you know.

I think it is 20%, but it probably does differ. I also do lose more than 50% of my bronzes though

You realize that's a cost of, like, 3k per hour?

And that your wasting massive amounts of XP and GP by using anything under mith arrows (but that's another argument for another thread ;) )

I really don't care if it's a loss of 1 gp or 1,000,000 gp, it's a loss. I hate losses.

Also, I don't see how using cheaper arrows is a bad thing.

Actually, more like OUR bad luck. Stupid accumulator loses more than 20% of my ammo too. O_O_O_O

Tell me, did any of you happen to kill a red spy on the way here? No? Then we still have a problem.

Well in that case, why don't you use dragonfire bolts without an accumulator? After all, you don't care if it's 3k or 3m your losing per hour. They are both 'losses'. Are you one of those people who picks their own flax, spins their own bowstrings, cuts their own yews, makes their own bows then proclaims about how much money they are making alching, laughing at the 'poor saps' who 'spend millions of gp on 99 mage buying yew longs'?

NO NO NO NO NO! I did not mean that, even though it might have seemed that way. I meant that I hate losing money, no matter what the amount.

Secondly, where did you get that? Just to inform you, I hate picking flax. I hate spinning bowstrings. I hate cutting yews. I hate making bows. I hate alching. I don't laugh at people.

Because losing 3k per hour isn't even worth factoring into calculations. It's like ranting that barrows armor costs 3k per hour to repair when doing GWD. It's a minuscule amount, and in reality is around half that (25-30% loss is about correct). The amount you lose directly correlates into how bad it is; losing 1.5k per hour doing something is meaningless, while losing 1m an hour means you should probably do something different.

This accumulator is better than no accumulator.

Rangers ranted about having to pick up their arrows and then this came out. Now they want more.

Agreed. Everything can always be made more convenient, but after a certain point it's not worth whining about.

I love to meet people; send me a pm if you see me on RuneScape! :)

All you need is like 50 def, 61 range, decent armour and possibly 34 summon.

It is definitely 20%.

As you fire your arrows, some will miss, lodging into the ground next to the monster. After the battle, you can retrieve the arrows and use them again. Please note there is an 80% chance of keeping any projectile and that anything you fire will only remain for a couple of minutes, so be prepared to lose a few if you are training for a long time!

Hi pie. I know it is 20, but it is a chance, which has to do with luck. And if you don't know already, my luck fails. Thanks for clearing it up, though.

The accumulator doesn't work over obstacles, nor does it pick up all the ammo I fire, even without an obstacle.

Its either a bug, or on purpose, or obstacles like rocks, stalagmites, brick walls and etc. are slightly magnetic in nature (maybe they got metals/ minerals in them), thereby disrupting the accumulator's function.

Just a short comment about breaking / losing ammo: Its really a small price in exchange for range experience. But it would be nice to keep using the same 1k bronze arrows I used from when I was level 1 Ranged j/k.

Total Level 2247- 11x 99s All Combat Skills, Slayer, Summoning, Woodcutting, Herblore

@pure, wow you got it :P

And accumulators pick up around 80% of arrows/bolts, exc broad which is about 70% because they break easier.

Do you remember a time, years ago

When all we had was a mage short bow

Arrows to rune

And a pointy green hat

A big shiny cannon

That made enemies splat

When we used our range

And didn't want to move

We had to telegrab with mage

Which was too costly for a newb

We had no fancy devices

Only jet-black vambraces

So next time you fire

And see your bolt on the floor

Don't cry and despare

You can always buy more

quit

You are making a rant about something that helps you? And just use safespots without an obstacle, or cheap arrows. And about the arrow losing thing:you realy have bad luck, or an extremly low rang level, as I only use about 100 arrows at fire giants (using mithril).
