Mercifull
Today I logged onto Runescape and there are these weird square patchy bits over most of the textures of runescape (not the icons etc). I'm at a bit of a loss as to whats causing the problem because at first thought its a graphics card issue but it doesn't seem to be happening on anything else even other Jagex games. I have installed the latest drivers for my graphics card as well as clearing the Jagex cache but its still happening. Ideas anyone? Dracion1
Faulty driver maybe? Try uninstalling and then reinstalling it to see if it helps (Before you ask, windows has a default driver which means your screen will work even if you don't have one installed). Also make sure your Java is updated too. "In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move." Dracion1
His computer shouldn't overheat when playing HD, it's hardly the most graphically demanding game around. He's got a high end card, so it's very very unlikely. What are the rest of your computer's specs though? It would be useful to know. Also, if you haven't already, make sure your internet browser and java are up to date. "In the beginning, the universe was created. Mercifull
Overheating? Not overheating. It is interesting to note that the boxes only appear over textures NOT over the icons of objects. pryomancer
If it's fine with other games, then we can assume it must be a RuneScape issue. Try totally reinstalling Java, there might be a problem with the rendering that's causing the weird patterns.
Mercifull
Uninstalling and reinstalling Java did not resolve the problem :( Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Mercifull
Turned the fan on the card to max to see if overheating was the issue but it still does it. sloter
Did you use a camera or print screen that image? If your print screened it i doubt it is your graphics card.

However i'm pretty sure if its a graphics card issue it still shows the errors in a print screen too. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Dracion1
I'm kinda stumped as it is. You said it runs fine on other games so it's unlikely to be a driver or a hardware problem. The only thing I can think of is updating your monitor drivers if you can (the windows default ones normally work fine), though that probably won't make any difference. Sorry :( "In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
pryomancer
I'm stumped too, it's only happening on RuneScape, which leads me to think it must be the way your graphics card and the RS client are talking to each other and rendering the graphics. Since the client is browser based, obviously, try making a new firefox profile, actually try that after clearing your firefox cache first.

Orpheus
Only other suggestion that I can think of is to try Opera, if that doesn't work, then we might have a bit of a problem here. I think it's more likely it's the Java client in the browser. Allthough reinstalling Java didn't work... I still think the problem lies there. Mercifull
Where are all the Jagex cache files saved then? I'm pretty sure I deleted them all but if someone could confirm the folder locations i can be sure to get rid of them all and start again.
