I can't call a Peruvian "Mexican". But if you're from Africa...no one is going to bother differenciating Liberian from Nigerian.

 

 

 

Peru and Mexico are separate countries. Nigeria and Liberia are countries located on the continent of Africa. So they're both Africans. Peruvians aren't Mexicans ;)

 

 

 

That's my point.

 

If you see anyone from south america here on the East Coast, you label them "mexican" (no matter where they are from). They do not like this. But the Africans do not complain when you say they are "African" even if they are from rival tribe nations.

A phrase which we seem to get a lot of in Britain is "it's political correctness gone mad!" I hate this as much as some of the political correctness itself, much of it made up by low quality tabloids to sell papers to disgruntled old people anyway.

The last four generations of my family have been born in America, so I don't think I could accurately use that term, just like most blacks can't really say they're from Africa (unless you go back multiple generations). The accepted term is black anyways (by most people).

Thats why I communicate in hokkien.I don't need to worry about being offensive since the language in general is offensive.We don't have full stops,we end our sentences with either vagina or penis.We don't have capital letters,we begin our sentence with your mom.We don't have "I",we refer to ourselves as your father (because your mother was sohh cash).
