Double Bass Pedal

BonScott

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

First post ever lmao.

I've been playing the drums for about three years now and I have decided to start playing songs that require a double bass pedal. Does anyone have any recommendations? Please post them.

My instructor, and yes I've been playing for three years and still have an instructor (we are really good friends), has recommended a Pearl P122TW Power Shifter Double Bass Drum Pedal. Anyone have one of those that wants to give their input?

Edit: OH AND IF YOU EVER WANNA TALK MUSIC (SPECIFICALLY ROCK/METAL) OR DRUMS, ADD ME AS A FRIEND!

I've been drumming since about 3 and I play a 9 piece double bass kit. The only way I would recommend you using double bass is if you feel you have mastered the single pedal. If you really have, go out and buy The Encyclopedia of Double Bass Drumming and get yourself a DW double pedal or another bass drum. If you have any questions about drumming at all, feel free to PM me.

The band Engineer's drummer doesn't use one, They aren't needed (Over used now days)I do have a Dw5000, but Even a pulse pro works OK (Musician's friend brand).

Ps Bands look for a drummer who can keep a beat, and is Unique.

Dw makes nice pedals, and so does Pearl, but you don't need to get too expensive if you aren't going to play too often or fast. A less expensive PDP pedal might work just fine for you. However, it is not as fast as some double-chained pedals out there.

It's good to be back.

Thanks, I'll think about a PDP, athough I've heard some not so great things about them.

I've got a Pearl P-122TW, love it, it's really responsive and great fun to play with, definitely recommend it.

Iron Cobras have the best speed. Demon drives just came out!

When me and my friends were out one night, we found a case with Iron Cobras inside them outside an apartment building. My friend, who's a drummer, grabbed them. Apparently they cost around 500eur.
