Whats your opinion on remakes?

Do you think there good? there a chance to play a game that might not be on a platform you own!!

Or do you think there made by lazy developers, trying to milk more cash from us?

Discuss your opinion :o

Oh and i think there made because the developers are lazy 8-)

They were necessary though. They had to be made so that people playing the DS generation of pokemon games could get the original pokemon. And why create a whole brand new game when you can use the original and tweak it.

I like most remakes, they area good way to re-experience games on newer systems while (for the most part) getting to play through new content.

Or they could let you trade with Generation I and II games

That's hard when you don't have those games, and they are out of production.

For the most part, I think that remakes are a pretty good idea, as long as they are pulled off correctly. By remake, I don't mean a direct port or translation of a game, I mean a full graphical update. For instance, I'd say that Fable 2 really was just a remake of the original Fable. A slightly different control scheme, more quests, different weapons, a dog, and added online play don't really make it a separate game or sequel, especially if there is no real storyline continuation.

I think that things such as Xbox Originals or the Wii Virtual Console are good ideas. Bringing back the original games, as a near-direct port.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

A remake, in my opinion, is using the same storyline (while using better graphics), wich didn't happen with Fable II.

They can't, due to the massive changes in game mechanics. There was at least one basic mechanic change between Generation I and Generation II that was implemented poorly. With Generation III, they wanted to redesign the system so it operated far more smoothly than before, hence, why there's no backwards compatibility from III and IV to I and II.

It's also harder when the Generation I games are impossible to insert into a DS. Just saying.

Are you guys seriously defending the remakes for pokemon? They are downright lazy. It's the same story over and over and every generation has bout THREE versions. Pick one pokemon from 3 options, get 8 badges, beat the elite 4, beat Team Rocket, etc. There's absolutely no reason why they can't put all pokemon accessible in every new game (or at least divide them between the versions of the generation).

I enjoyed Red, Silver, and Pearl. But the whole series just reeks of laziness.

Well yeah that's if you only get 8 badges, beat the Elite Four, and get the legendaries.

If you start doing some competitive battling the number of strategies increases by a lot in each game.

the strategy only changes because they mix up the types and create new pokemon and moves.

the gameplay itself hardly ever differs.

Are the strategies really different between say, Diamond and Pearl? Or Ruby and Sapphire?
