I was wondering what your opinion on the ring of wealth is .

I've been using it for ages now, but I dont have the feeling it really increases my drop...

Well RoW brought me steam battlestaff on a solo zammy yesterday, which is a rare, just like hilt and spear...

I like, its a good ring to use when monster hunting <3:

It's a matter of taste. ^^

It might be hard to notice the effect as it's all up to chance, but yes it does have effect.

i started useing one just after thay come out and used it untill a few months ago when i got a zerker i find i get better drops without it so to me its a useless ring

I use it all the time when I kill monsters, and it helped me get my first dragon drop - a Dragon Med. at Fire Giants

It can be hard to tell at first, but it does make a difference.

if you ask me it works in the long run, you can't put one on and expect to get a good drop you wear it everytime you go and eventually you get a few more really good drops

And another row thread! Just think, why would Jagex make an enchanted dragonstone ring, name it "ring of wealth", and make it serve no purpose? I think it increases the chances at rare drops by a very small percentage but I still wear it.

Even if it DID make a difference in any way, I wouldn't use it since the difference would probably be too small to notice.

It does increase the chance of rarer drops. Not neccissarily more valuable, just rarer. This is a "God Letter" from Jagex:

hello, i was wondering 2 things

1. how much of a chance does wearing a dragon ring increase

THANKS,

I see that many people in this world hath conflicting and contrary ideas as to how the ring of wealth may help them.

Allow me to set this straight once and for all.

1) If thou consider the possessions of an enemy to be like a roulette wheel, then the 'rare' items so coveted by players are located on a second roulette wheel, that will only be spun shouldst thou roll a specific number on the first wheel.

The ring of wealth affects not the number which thou may achieve upon the first wheel, but should thou gain the precise number to allow thee access to the second, the ring will make thy chances of gaining an object on that second roulette wheel all the greater.

My analogy is flawed, for death is not like roulette, but I hope that thou see the truth within this.

It says that a monster drop is calculated in 2 stages. The first is broad catagories, possibly like Runes, Gems, Armour, Weapons, Arrows. The ROW does not effect this stage. Once the catagory is chosen, the ROW kicks in, increasing the chance of a rarer item. For example, if someone was killing aviansies and the first "wheel" landed on Runes, then the ROW would increase the chance of getting bloods rather then waters.

The "other thing" he asked was unrelated.

Within Tip it's treasure trail FAQ is states that Jagex informed tip[ it that the ring of wealth greaytly increase your chances of a RARE drop, not just everyday items being more common. for example. for every 10 d legs u get from steels with no ring u will get 12-13 with the ring. RoW is a very very useful resource when monster huinting. IT will also increase your chance of a clue scroll drop from a monster as this is considered slightly rare, if thats what your into:P
