saladplease
ok i really dont know which is better.. Sc axe : double the xp but a bit slower dragon axe : fast but normal xp  well i dont wc for cash , its purely for xp, and im fine with the sc game, i roughly get enough points for 1 and a half of the cost of the tool, using skilling games
Sir_Kurity
Do you need money? If so, use dragon axe, infact if you need money never use stealing creation axe, infact just never use stealing creation axe. Seriously, you can make your XP back in 20 mins by cutting willows with a dragon axe and then cutting yews for money, and then cutting willows, for more XP and profit. Experiment yourself, i haven't really tryed it enough, but from what i have seen your far better off with a dragon axe. O.O
Owned_Nex
It depends on how much you can make. If the time saved from using the SC multiplyed by how much you make is greater then the amount made with dragon axe, then use SC. If not, use dragon. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. mmmcannibalism
Id say dragon axe is better overall. If clay axe is earning you 40 minutes of xp in 20 minutes of time it is technically just as good; however, 40 minutes of d axe cutting would be twice as much gp as 20 of clay axe and 20 of sc. Another key thing is that you will lose some efficiency having to switch axes every so often. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed. I agree with the sentiment that if you have a bunch of points first it could be faster, but that would be like saying 99 prayer is easy because you could have the money already. Well, look at it like this; We will split a hour into three 20 minute parts. 1/3 Is a SC game for the axe 2/3 Is Profit from logs That means you get 1/3 less logs, but 1/3 more exp. So, you have 1/3 mroe time to make money. That means if you can make more money in 20 minutes normally than chopping logs, go for SC. If you can't make as much money as chopping logs, go for the Dragon axe. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. Abc1230
Just get the d axe. Most intermediate players can afford it and you keep it forever. Get clay knife instead. YouTube
obfuscator
Yeah, I am inclined to think that dragon axe would be better. Save your sc points for other things :) "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
D Jay99
You can't really conclude things without the woodcutting xp/hour and how long the sc axe lasts. Does anyone know how long it lasts?

mmmcannibalism
well assuming you are getting max wc xp (teaks) how long would a sc axe work? I agree with your reasoning on xp rate but if more then half your time is spent getting axes you are losing rate, and if it takes exactly half your time you are breaking even, but losing logs/fm xp(adze or axe on yews). Another question is does the sc axe cut as fast as the dragon axe? Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed. GibberEsh
I tested it myself a couple of times and got about 35k exp. Rune wiki gives a whole list of exp rates for : http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Sacred_clay_hatchet I'm no expert on woodcutting but reading from guides, it seems that exp is ~50-60k/hour? If that were so, since the hatchet gives you a bonus 17k exp in those 20 mins you spend to get it, you could have just used a dragon axe and got 20k exp in 20 mins. Also, the clay hatchet is slower than the dragon axe so that'll slow down your exp too.
D Jay99
34k xp per axe at teaks. Getting an axe takes about 14 minutes in a non combat sc game (12 minutes playing 2 minutes waiting). You can get about 23 points a game and you only need 20, so that's only 12 minutes. Teaks are about 55k xp/hour at level 80, so it will take 19 minutes to use the axe and get 34k xp. That's a total of 31 minutes for 34k xp, or 66k xp/hour. If you go to a normal sc game it will take 22 minutes for 23 points, or 19 minutes per axe. That's a total of 38 minutes to get the axe and use it to get 34k xp, an average of 54k xp/hour. So, if you like playing normal sc, it's worth it, even though the wc xp is slightly slower. If you join a non combat sc game it's even more worth it, faster xp and more fun (in my opinion). 55k xp/hour is my data, and I got 34k per axe from the rs wiki link posted earlier. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Tested the xp/axe at teaks and only got 18.7k per axe, don't mind these calculations :P New calcs with 18.7k/axe figure: 18.7k xp per axe at teaks. Getting an axe takes about 14 minutes in a non combat sc game (12 minutes playing 2 minutes waiting). You can get about 23 points a game and you only need 20, so that's only 12 minutes. Teaks are about 55k xp/hour at level 80, so it will take 10 minutes to use the axe and get 18.7k xp. That's a total of 22 minutes for 18.7k xp, or 51k xp/hour. Might be worth it if you enjoy noncombat sc a lot, but if you just play normal sc or don't particulary like sc just use a dragon axe.
GibberEsh
Oops, forgot about noncombat sc lol. I still prefer to use dragon axe because it just comes down to a preference of liking the mini-game or not. and I am sick of it lol
Moneyna
I think Dragon axe should win this 'fight' since SC axe has a limit of it's use (of course it's very good for experience but while you play the SC minigame you can be wcing with the dragon axe and getting the exp.) So dragon axe should win this cause you could wc 24/7 and like that , while looking at that from SC axe side you would axe 12/7 since you would have to get your axe and all from the SC minigame. AngelofLife
IMO, i'd rather use a rune axe then the sc axe since i find it to be slower than rune sometimes, but yea dragon axe all the way tbh. Note before anyone flames: im 99 wc so i've been there done that ;) This is from my own experience with testing out the sc axe.
