Notes:

Slayer helm only on task. Guthix coif without (Cheapest)

Can use diamond (e) bolts instead of broad for extra damage (but more costly)

Can use either ring of life or ring of wealth depending on bravery

Regen Brace can be swapped with barrows gloves

*All setups and inventorys listed here may not suit you, but it is only to get the general idea of some different method to kill certain monsters.

  • The pouch is a placeholder for your familiar. On some tasks you'll want to use a bunyip, on some you'll want to use an offensive familiar or none at all. A beast of burden can increase the number of kills you get before you have to bank and will allow you to ferry more loot when you do. This is pretty much up to personal preference and differs a lot per task.
  • The dragon dagger can be replaced by dragon claws, the Saradomin godsword or an Enhanced Excalibur; if using Excalibur, you do not need super defence potions. The whip can be replaced by the chaotic rapier. Verac's skirt can be replaced by proselyte legs, but you'll lose a lot of defence for one more prayer bonus. The ring of wealth can be replaced by a fremminik and/or imbued ring for added offence or the explorer's ring for one additional prayer bonus.
  • When slaying in Kuradal's dungeon, use the ferocious ring.
  • Bones to peaches, either in runes or tablets, can keep your lp up forever on bone-dropping monsters such as dust devils and warped terrorbirds. Baskets of strawberries (5) heal five times 60 lp in one inventory space, but are a hassle to eat. A bunyip is the best healing if you take little damage spread across a long time, as one pouch heals up to 3520 lp, but spread over 44 minutes. Monkfish are more expensive than strawberries or bunyips, but excellent food if you need larger bites. If you have soul split, use that.
  • Protection prayers will remove the need for healing, but will burn more prayer potions, meaning shorter trips. If completely protected, use proselyte legs.
  • Use extreme potions if you have them. Use turmoil if you have it.
  • Don't forget to bring task-specific items, such as crystal chimes!

Magic

23jogox.png

  • Adjust runes depending on spell you cast, around 1-1.5k casts.
  • If Super Defense + Bunyip/Unicorn doesn't heal you, use melee prayer.

    • You need 5 herb seeds and 4 flower seeds (limpwurts are best).
    • It doesn't matter which order you do, but the teleports are : cabbage-port to Falador, ectophial to Morytania, runes to Trollheim and Camelot (close to Catherby).
    • Ardougne can be reached by the cape (once a day, or always with the elite cape), the combat bracelet (ranging guild) or the skills necklace (fishing guild).
    • The cape also allows free teleports to the Ardougne berry patch, the combat bracelet goes to the champion's guild to pick the berries there, the broom goes to
    • Al Kharid to pick your cactus spines. The skills necklace to the cooking guild is a fast way to get to the GE. The gloves are to get to Shilo, the coins to take a cart
    • from there to the tree patch by Brimhaven.
    • This outfit can be enhanced with agile legs and top, but at higher agility levels that is not neccesary to remain running throughout.
    • Always use supercompost; store it in the tool shed.

    Herb/Bush Runs

    20zch0n.png

    • Runes are for spellbook swap, trollheim tele, catherby tele and fertile soil. Duelling ring for ma tele to spirit tree to bush patch and duelling arena tele to cactus, combat brace is for champions guild tele to bush patch. Ardy elite cape is for ardougne patch tele and monastery tele to bush patch.
    • Wolpertinger is for double berries.
    • Average profit with scroll of life unlocked as of 25/07 is 295k/run atm, 305k if you have done the blood pact and can use the house tab thing to get to rimmington bush patch.
    • This is also the fastest method possible for herb runs.

I really like the idea of this guide

Veracs Hybrid (With C'Bow)

Should also bring a melee weapon in inventory (Whip or GS)

I only did a few that caught my eye. Maybe I'll do some more later; and I would have done some ranged pictures but I sold my Armadyl a little bit ago to get 88 Summoning :wall:

KBD attack is magic, but isn't magic defense based (or something, anyway, pros should protect just as much as karil), so you should use proselyte, according to zarfot.

I was thinking that, but figured I do the popular thing and do Karils lol

Sorry I didn't specify but the Veracs Hybrid and Veracs Mage were actually setups for the Dagannoth Kings.

I don't think it's a good idea the mage the KQ.

Thanks for pointing that out. ::'

Can I also have permission to use those Karil/Void waterfiend setups which you have?

  • 3 weeks later...

It's always the great ideas that make you slap yourself for not thinking of it first. Great job, hope to see it polished soon!

I do think linking each image to the most popular guide would be a good way to enhance this.

All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it

Melee (Guthan's)? Are you talking about meleeing barrows with guthan's, which is obviously incredibly stupid? Probably should change it to Mage (Guthan's).

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Knowing whether to take mage defence, prayer bonus, melee defence etc isn't too hard. I think it's the inventory that matters most, and if you really want to make a very succesful you should add all alternatives to weapon, armour, potions etc, which will take [cabbage]load of time. The idea is good and it's nice you spend time to help people but I don't think many people will use it, in all honesty.

I didn't add the accumulator to my setup because I use Broad Bolts and don't pick them up. My trimmed skill cape provides me with a lot more defense and prayer, so I can stay that much longer. But, if you're tribirding or maybe just going for maximum output, use diamond bolts/accumulator.

I also choose Frog-Leather Boots (call me nooby lol) because they are one of the only boots in the game to give a ranged defense bonus (plus attack bonus) it's only +1 but like I said, I make the most of my trips by lasting as long as I possibly can. Frog-Leather Boots, Jester Boots and Rouge Boots (+2) are the only ranged defense boots. I would have chosen White or Bandos Boots, for the prayer bonus, but they bring down ranged attack bonus. Dragon boots and their (only beneficial) strength bonus are not worth the stats (or risk); as they do not provide you with any defensive bonus and bring down your ranged attack. Go with Frog-Leather, Snakeskin or White Boots.

Sounds like a great idea. I think this will be great once it comes out finished.

I think if you added an inventory pic as well, though, it would be even better. Some of these didn't make sense at first, like the Goraks picture where I was wondering why you would use a battlestaff instead of a normal weapon :wall:
