shootingstar5
Maybe is it by alphabet order?
brainymidget
I think that different people will see someone different on top. Example: Person A, Person B, Person C are all on the same square. Everyone see's themselves as the one on top Person D and Person E are standing nearby. Person D may see Person B on top, while Person E may see Person C on top. Emmentail
I know from Graahk crafting that any new familiar onto spot by the CW bank will be ontop of any previous ones. Makes it kinda annoying to go through 5 graahks trying to remember where in the list yours should be. I don't think it's the same principle for players though, party room people seem to disappear under other players all the time.
pulli23
Generally these things are programmed by id: whoever has the smallest ID is being handled first, so he is "under" the one with a larger id.. (that's the normal way how to process "users" in games).. Now what determines the ID? - I believe it are session id's (again this would be most logical: player ID's wouldn't have any use apart from this, so they're probably not used.. Session ID on the other hand are values which have to be there anyway, as the server has to know "who's online" - note that the session ID changes when you log in/out). Now the biggest question to me seems: how are session id's handled: normally one would just increase the ID by 1 everytime someone new joins.. However for an MMO there are lots and lots of people leaving, joining etc. Easily surpassing the limits from an integer after a few weeks... So they'll have to be resetted: but that means no one could log in for infinite time.. Or they have to be "clever" numbers: filling up gaps as people leave.. But basically what I'm trying to say is: the order is depending on the "time" you logged in! First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. Randox
Am I the only person who knew exactly what the topic was from the title? Did it change? I like the loaded area first idea. Makes sense too.

Master_Smither
I would still be on top How can you know if you were on top, as you can't know what others are seeing? Well considering day after day the same people would alch there and usually everyone is in some sort of outfit people wouldn't dd because of that and if someone did I would ask if they can see me. shootingstar5
Most of the time I see that women are 90% always on top, but I think that the first person to log into an area on the map is more reasonable.
