March 19, 200917 yr Recently I have been killing iron dragons fairly regularly, I killed about 300-400 using a ring of wealth and was getting their fairly normal drops. I then went and did one trip today(still in progress) and I killed about 40 and get a dragon skirt drop. What I'm wondering is if the ring of wealth makes a huge improvement on the drop chance of geting the rarer drops or if I have just been very unlucky as such? Any info on this would be apretiated thanks.

March 19, 200917 yr Author Ok I just find it interesting that the time I chose not to use one I have had a dragon skirt 2 teeth half's and a loop half. Guess ill get my ring of wealth next trip

March 19, 200917 yr Author Ok thanks for confirming that it helps I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing out on something:)
March 19, 200917 yr As said above, it increases the chances of getting a rare drop. Personally i have killed well over 2000 iron dragons, and most of the time i was wearing a ring of wealth. I have never ever got a dragon drop. Alot of people decide not to wear it as it seems to make no difference. (But i'm gonna continue to wear one till i get a rare drop lol) Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!
March 19, 200917 yr I got a d legs at kill 60 or so with wealth...but that was ages ago  And i got a Visage around 2k kills at iron without one. I think its all basicly luck. 3/5 whips ive gotten, ive gotten without a RoW. March 19, 200917 yr The ring of wealth probably works. If you have one, wear it. If you have a warrior ring or berserker ring, then you have to ask yourself if faster kills and experience will counter-balance the lesser rate of rare drops "in the long run". If you don't have these, then stick with the ring of wealth. It's mostly a matter of choice as I've never seen any in-depth analysis of the ROW, while the warrior ring and berserker ring can be studied pretty easily with a couple hours of training. March 19, 200917 yr Everyone who is saying that it increases your chances of a rare drop are DEAD WRONG. As explained by Jagex, the ring of wealth increases the quality of your drop if you're lucky enough to get a spin on the rare wheel. Imagine a roulette wheel- every single slot is filled by a drop. If your ball drops into the green slot, however, you get tossed onto a second wheel (the rare wheel). It's on the rare wheel that the ring of wealth has an effect- no one knows exactly what the mechanism is, but the wealth probably increases the number of slots for the monster's top drop (a visage in the case of iron dragons) or eliminates a slot or two of the "bad" rare drops (teeth and loop halves). Yes, it's worth it to wear one, but it does NOT increase your CHANCES of getting a rare drop.
March 19, 200917 yr It does not increase your chances of getting to spin that rare wheel, but if on that rare wheel, there are crap drops, and it increase your chance of getting a quality drop on that wheel, then by definition it increases your chance for a "rare good" drop. As we don't know the full mechanics, all we do is pure speculation. March 27, 200917 yr Ah, the RoW debate, possibly the most debated topic ever. I guess it works, why else would JaGEx stick the name 'Ring Of WEALTH' on something, and make it not do anything. #-o #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod

Yes, it's worth it to wear one, but it does NOT increase your CHANCES of getting a rare drop. I'm sorry, but you are the one that is wrong here. ^^ Yes, it does increase your chances of getting a rare drop. While you are completely correct on the fact that it does not affect he first wheel (and thereby does not increase the chance of getting to that second 'rare' wheel) it does increase the chance of getting on a 'rare' spot on that second wheel. The second wheel contains both rare and crap drops, a ring of wealth increases the amount of 'rare' spots on the second wheel and thereby increases your chances of getting a rare. The increase is not a very high percentage, I'll have to admit that, and because of that it is pretty hard to notice. Also it still comes down to a load of chance of course, you could wear the ring for ages and not get a good drop and then forget to wear it once and get those legs you where looking for. :P All in all, unless Jagex wants to fool us badly and thinks it funny in some way that we all hope the ring works while it doesn't, we can assume the ring works. Though I can imagine Jagex finding it quite fun to see all those debates about it. :P My guide: Ring of Wealth explained 8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)
