terley Posted August 10, 2005 Share Posted August 10, 2005 well my pc broke somehow and I had to get something major replaced, I dun know much about computer's so I couldnt explain what happened but I do know I didnt loose any files :D!.. I did have a pc tho during this time but it's much older and it has no internet so I guess ive been just tryin to make the most of my times on paint, here is just a little pixel city thingie I was working on 8) im just wondering what shops to put in, theyre blank atm.. I got my shop, and im gonna put teenageloosers next to mine down the tip.it road but I have no clue about who's else to put in, maybe a highly known pixel artists shop at the end (the one that looks like a supermarket, with parking :lol: ).. #Update? If u have any suggestions just post, and to all my customers Ive not been doing this instead of your sigs.. Ive just been on another pc with no information to help me do any, ill be working very hard to try get em all done. ive said it once and ill say it again, im only human so please don't expect my life to go perfectly :wink: . I was just messin around with isometric so if you just wanna collab on something else maybe it could just be the usual where u draw a character and I draw a background, which is what I initially thought :o .. or maybe you could draw some random characters for this city? heh maybe you standing outside your shop and me outside mine :S gotta be iso tho.. well the shops were originally supposed to be signature shops but I suppose I could add other shops too :shock: , sounds great.. The only odd thing is that stuff like the individual parking spots are disproportional compared to the buildings, but it's kind of interesting. Did you have to set up your shop next to McDonalds? :( I hope you add people doing different stuff too, to bring in some life. You should add protesters on the streets with signs trying to shut down the sig shops (seriously). I suppose it should advertise my shop shouldn't it? may change that.. The cars are gonna be 2 tiles long (if you see the pavement) I made the parking that big so theres space to open the doors :P, if theres anything that looks odd please tell me cus Im knida new to making cities heh, i was gonna add a lot to it you know kinda build it up till it looks like a pretty busy place.. People queing up outside the shops, a range of cars (which will be pretty hard) and a lot of random funny things happening, cus its tip.it.. you can expect anything :lol: . I may also make the screen bigger, expand the community so please, if you want me to make you a shop ill be happy to add it in :D. Well, they are attempting to build a McDonalds in walking distance for every American, so it would only be logical to put a few in this little city. Great job terley! You've completely blown me away with this piece, awesome details and shading so far. I have an idea, but it doesn't have to be part of this city. Somebody makes a template city (everyone touches it up, putting in their own critiques/efforts to perfect it).. with numbers on the empty buildings. Then people would have a certain time limit to create their own shop, house, building, etc. based on the template building they chose. If they can't finish it in time, anyone who missed the last 'dib calling' (or anyone who has finished their original dibs) can go call dibs on any unfinished houses. This has it's downsides though... A single building that's out of place (ie: bad perspective, wrong lighting, or non-pixel alltogether) could throw off the whole piece. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've seen some good pixelers here at tip. Quite a few. It wouldn't be anything near the size of Terley's, and we'd only have a few of these stores. And... we could even set up this "challenge" so it only includes artists we've hand-chosen. Those artists who accept the challenge would first flip an e-coin to get their lot, then design their own, small, building, and possibly more. It would be wicked.. If all goes to plan, we could even give "steps" and then vote (although i'm not really fond of polls) on a winner for each step. The winner might win something special.. you never know! For example, step 1 could be "Buildings". We'd all create our houses, shacks, mansions, cubicals, whatever... step 2 could be "vehicles". We can place our tanks in our driveways, our golf courts around back, our Shagmobile speeding past the front, etc.. step 3 could be people, or flying crafts, or.. whatever else you can come up with. etc... etc.. terley Posted August 11, 2005 Author Share Posted August 11, 2005 just to say thats not mcdonalds, its my shop :(.. just a mcdonalds sign stuck on the side of it for advertising, I wracked my brain for ages tryin to think of what to put on the billboard but I suppose as mcdonalds is unpopular Ill just have to advertise something else like my shop :? ?!? the idea was to have my pixel shop as a small corner shop as I have my shop on both tip.it and runevillage and im not 'the best pixeler' so the better you are at sig making the bigger and more advanced your shop would be... I like the ideas and ill try live up to your expectations of the city, but I still have my sigs to complete for my shop so ill have to wait until considering your idea venomai.
