Saving up money for 99 construction

dfchester, you didn't answer the question at all.

I think there are several faster methods of making money. Contrary to what people think, you don't make much money Runecrafting anymore, with the cost of Pure Essence factored it. I did some calculations a few months ago and it ended up being 100k gp per hour or less.

However, I still think that this would be a good idea because you'd be getting experience in a reputable skill as a bonus. The other, faster ways of making money are usually NPC trading methods. Not too consistent, and very, very boring.

If you can stand making 50k law runes, go for it.

Another idea is to make Runecrafting (or another moneymaking skill) your first 99, then use the money from that to fund Construction.

Sand_Hill thanks for your answer. I think I will switch between skilling and NPC trading. I was thinking about getting my woodcutting higher on eucalyptus trees because I have heard that that is the best way to go now. I am burned out of runecrafting just getting to 61...

I can't add any ways to make more money, but I do highly suggest cutting your own planks as much as possible. This cuts the general cost by almost half, and in later levels, using sacred clay hammers (available as a prize from Stealing Creation) will double your exp (which means it would take 1/2 the planks, effectively reducing your costs to nearly one fourth!). I don't really suggest doing this unless you're positive you will follow through with your goal, as it can be fairly more time-consuming, but it will more than likely take less time than working to 50m gold.

Only cut your planks if it's the fastest way you can make money (which is about 350k/hr with balloons, mind you.) If you make more money at runecrafting or what have you, do that.

I'd just like to throw out Green Dragons and Aviansies as good, consistent, combat-based money making methods. You can make 400k at greens starting at relatively low levels, and it only goes up (I make 600-650k).

Definitely use SC Hammers. It's a fun minigame, and if you join a skilling only clan (such as "sc claymates"), the games end a lot faster, so you can get more points. The hammers will cut your cost in half.

It's been a while since this has been posted on, but I would like to add that I meant to cut planks as a way to cut the cost of leveling, not to make money.

So:

50m needed (using the post as reference)

Planks cost about 450gp each in G.E., 250gp when cutting (use servant)

So, the same amount of planks only costs 27,777,778gp (roughly, and not including servant costs)

Using a Clay hammer doubles the exp, so using these throughout (or as much as possible) means you will only have to use half the number of planks, essentially cutting the price by 1/2 more.

So, instead of costing 27,777,778gp, it would cost 13,888,889gp instead of 50m to reach 99. (assuming your number was correct)

99 Construction doesn't cost 50M, it's a lot closer to 100M. I spent 27M on oak planks to get to 89 from 70 (haven't used them all yet, but I'll get around to making oak doors again at some point)

But SC hammers would cut the cost in half. Also don't forget to factor in the cost of a human butler.

I would also like to point out that you would be insane to run all of your oak logs to the sawmill to turn them into planks. It saves money but it would make getting 99 construction take about 5 times as long, which you don't really want.

On the topic of RC, rc is bad cash until 91, when its about 900k-1m an hour, which is in my opinion the best non merchanting cash in RS

Boss killing can be a great way to make money, i personally made 10m off of 2-4 trips to bandos \' but in with that you could do a bit of Runecrafting and maybe some other money making skills such as fishing (monkfish/sharks) Or you could try some trips to DK, GWD, KBD or any other good money making boss kills, hope this helps

I suggest you to craft some Laws{About 10k} , Take A{I think} Mud Staff, And Use Teleport To House.

Also Buy Dueling Rings (8) Or Enchant Some Emerald Rings For Teleport To Castle Wars {Closest Bank}

This Would Be Much Easier To You Instead of going to the House and Going Back.

A way to make easy money is to ******* **** ******* **** ****** .

You can also make from this skill money, get it up to 40 and craft some teleport tabs

Good Luck On 99 !
