Just dropping by. Wondering what's happened in around a year, and what all the hub-ub about this recent glitch is.

I have been here for the GE, summoning, and there were no major updates for a while when I left.

EDIT: Alright, answer some specifics and fill me in on anything notable that I miss

-What is the recent bug, how did it work, how was it abused, what's the current situation, etc

-How is the economy these days?

-Dragon claws and plate I hear? Are dragon claws good?

- Generally fill me in on new armour and whatever is the best armour now

Yayyyyyy...

Some people abused the pvp glitch to make a lot of money fast. Basically, wildy is gone( the pvp part), new pvp worlds released, bounty hunter is being updated, and a lot of minor fixes have occured.

Oh yeah, summoning owns, it really helps(unless you pk a lot then its pretty much useless). Familiars that carry extra items(up to 30 if you have 96 summoning), familiars that heal, give you exp boost or boosted levels, fight, and do all sorts. Its pretty expensive to train though and the charms don't come fast unless you spend money bursting rock lobsters.

Dragon claws special is 4 hits at once, 50% usage. its like if you hit 40, the next 2 hits will be 20, and the last one 10 or something. Economy of rares is pretty bad, third age is crashing now, but i think rares are going up and some prices are starting to smooth out. Dragon plate is ok but not great stats and already has been graphically updated once.

Barrows or Bandos is still really good armor. The glitch was where people would some how log into a f2p world from p2p and gain potential faster and get amazing drops( i don't know how it works and if you try or something you can get banned).

The PvP glitch has been removed, I think it's safe to talk about it.

The person would summon a Beast of Burden familiar (Spirit Kalphite, Terrorbird, War Tortoise, Pack Yak), and load it up with as much money per spot as possible. Being able to hold... 30k per space (probably more), that's alot. They would then log into a F2P world. The familiar wouldn't show up as it's a F2P world, but the game still counts the familiar being there, with whatever amount of money it's holding being technically "risked" by the player. They would then go out and get killed. They were "risking" loads of money through their familiars, but since they were in a F2P world, the familiar wouldn't die, but the money being "risked" has been converted to drop potential, and the player repeated this over and over again, gaining an insane amount of drop potential. They'd then go out and PK someone risking a minimum of 75k, and would get extremely good drops because of their enormous amount of potential.

At least that's what I understood from what someone told me. But you get the idea. :)

Dragon claws are really high priced due to both the difficulty of getting them and the PvP demand, due to aforementioned special. Dragon plate looks okay, but frankly isn't worth the price. I'd rather have Trogdor emblazoned on my torso than that strange jagged butterfly they call a dragon. The "I" is for "I REALLY SUCK."

The PvP bug basically counts stuff stored on your familiar as a factor in how much rewards you can get from PKing (the system bases rewards roughly on risk rather than direct inventory drops) while you are on a F2P world, which means that your familiar won't be present, and will not be actually risked while dying repeatedly to gain potential. After you're done getting roughed up, you can hop back to a members world, knock almost any shmuck over who gets in your way, and gain piles of loot that violate the laws of equivalent exchange. However, the staff are aware of it, have logs that show who has been doing it, and were pretty much just waiting for the rest of the team to come back from Easter holiday to go to town on them. In the meanwhile, this has caused DFH and DFS to drop in price since those are drops from the PK reward system and are extremely easy to get with an artificially inflated potential in the millions. I am not up to date on recent activities, and cannot confirm exactly how the J team plans to crush them mercilessly under their heels. It will either be overblown, or not satisfying in the least. Oh wait, that sort of means the same thing.

Economy seems to be getting more annoying by the day since merchants are manipulating prices, but hey, that's what they do, can't change the animal. There appears to be no end in sight until somebody does something really, really [bleep]ish for money and pisses off everybody to the point that Jagex decides to do something dumb and ruin the game because people won't play nice and they want to make a dramatic statement with their actions and on the whole, is ineffective because we're all pretty stupid. Nobody will learn anything from the outcome. We'll act like it changed something, though. Mostly, we'll be more moody and unsatisfied, which will justify the next set of deplorable actions we are likely to take part in when opportunity throws a grenade into the house.

The old standards are still there by any means, since most of the new stuff gets taken hostage by price manipulation. Sure, the spirit shields and dragon doodads have nice stats and look fancy, but we can't use em cause some [wagon] wants to make money. And I guess wanting more money isn't that bad, even if you have to essentially remove content from the game until somebody pays you to give it back, because the money's that important to you.

ok, so enought guys told you about the gilthces....

same as d claws...

the best armor is still the barrows armor...but the elysian shield seems to be the best shield now, even over a DFS, but unlikely the averge player gonna hold it anytime soon... :(

economy...bad as always. 3rd age finally crash, phats in raise, huge number of price munipulation in alots of items....and since the last giltch theres rumor their trying to buy with their cash the most rares they can, get banned and the rare market, will be more rarte. no1 really knows if they really have that much money and if they'll do that, but only the rumors themselfes drives the rares market crazy
