They are ripped (as in, stolen) and I (and i'm sure many others) would aperciate if you take them out of the signatures. The backgrounds arn't bad. c4 Posted August 20, 2005 Share Posted August 20, 2005 If you didnt make it, dont use it unless you have written consent from the artist to do so, and when given consent, give credit where due so that you are not flamed later on by it. Sigs are ok, looks like basic PS filter effects with some heightened contrast and Crtl + U adjustments made (HUE/SAT). Sigs are alright. Realy though, I didn't look inside of them, I'm asuming Loth did, but a lot of these "video game stock sites" are just wallpaper sites. They arn't intended in being used in your own work. However, if you do show me proof that the artists gave their consent to allow others to use their images without linking back or giving credit, than I will back off. ALSO you ppl dont get the concept of signatures? its a gfx of you, the way u want it to be.. its not taking other ppl's work and calling it your own, they provided us with the pics so we can use them however we wanted. the ONLY thing they dont want us to do is sell for money/COPYWRITING it your own. I still have yet to see actual proof that the artists allowed you to use these images. The money issue, if you ever decide to sell these on rs, than it becomes a problem. I'm just going to do a little scenerio here. me: Hey, check out this sweet new sig I made! person1: ooh, very nice. I like it. Person2: cool you: hey, thats my work! Realy, how would you feel if someone took your work, mutulated it (as I did in this scenerio) and then posted it as their own. Sure, maybe their "intention" was that they realy didn't make it all, they just wanted to use it as a base work, but they gave no link refering to the artist who was a large part in the piece. you'll notice in a lot of these sigs with images from video games/whatever in them, the image takes up often 50% or more of the room in the sig. Technicly, you only made half of it. I'm just trying to get you to understand. These images you are using are someone else's work, who i'm sure wouldn't want to have plastered onto little grunge/abstract backgrounds, especialy without any permision. EDIT: I see you don't sell your sigs, but still I don't like it that much. Especialy because you expect us to give you comments on something that half of it you didn't even make. "a lot of them seem like brush piles" WELL ive used terr./moutian programs such as bryce/c4d and they dont take no skill what so ever. tbh my friend all u do is punch some numbers in and there you go a mountian appears,.. the real work comes into play when you actually do brushing on it/color it. Yes, because they can easily everyone who infringes copyrights :roll:. Would you go into an art store, steal a painting, throw some stuff on there, trade it to someone for some baseball cards, and then go sell those cards for real money?
