Heya scapers.

 

 

 

Ive been thinking recently about what to kill for some cash, im sick of green drags and ankous tbh and would like some advice on what else my stats/gear could kill as a melee fighter with my current stats. have rune plate and legs, whip, obby cape + shield, rune boots, glory with neit helm. stats below in sig

Train slayer. It may not be the fastest exp or money, but its fun, and you're bound to make a profit because you really only have to pay for food/pots. I enjoy slayer because it gets you out of the routine of just camping at a certain monster for hours on end and gives you atleast a little bit of variety.

Slayer would be a nice alternative. Green Dragons are about the best way to make cash and melee exp. Other then that there are few ways that have great profit and great/decent exp. Slayer will get you melee exp, hp exp, slayer exp, charms for summoning, and a small amount of profit. Armored Zombies are great exp/hr from what i hear, not so good on the profit/hr, but i doubt you can get to them.

slayers a good decision and one i have thought of, however my current task is to finish off about 90 of the 174 fire giants task....one i had been previously ranging. will i get hit a lot with the waterfall fire giants? ill be using monks for food, would atk/str/def pots be useful for me up there or not worth it, from memory i rarely got decent drops from em so id rather not use more money than the food would cost me.

By atk/str/def pots, I hope you mean super pots. Really, they aren't that expensive, and I always make my money back on fire giant tasks. They drop plenty of fire battle staves, and 2 or 3 of those will pretty much pay for your potions. Plus, they drop rune scimmys quite often (I usually get 2-3 per task). Meleeing them in the waterfall would probably work best for you since it isn't multi combat there. I prefer meleeing them in the chaos tunnels where it is multi combat, but then again, I'm lvl 121.

They are quite strong, waterfall would be the best. If you don't mind you can just finish it off by ranging them there as well.

 

 

 

Oh and can you post how much cash you do have. I would like to give you a better equipment to wear, just need to know a budget.

I agree here, knowing what budget you have would help a lot here.

 

 

 

A little off topic here, but I'm on a fire giant task right now, and I just got a half key tooth drop, which pays for the task completely. And that was only like 40 kills in, so I still have plenty more to go to get even more profit.

gear wise i could do a lil better just cant afford atm, literally just finished getting 70+ in the cb stats and the whip was my own reward..although it did kinda clean me out a bit. im hoping to train a bit as i am making money with em. probably got about 500k ish left atm was gonna save for some barrows equipment, probably guthans as ill want to be training slayer soon...really need to focus on summoning when i get a bit of cash too lol....

Just keep saving up then while slaying. Maybe get lucky off of a clue scroll you get on a task. Otherwise to get moeny you might have to go back to the Green Dragons. Also try and get a Rune Defender from the Warriors guild. You can either use it instead of the Obby shield and sell it. Or use both as the shield has good offensive and defensive attacks.

i do like the defensive stats of the obby shield, and for some reason i liek the fact in that gear ym str bonus is excactly 100 lol. ive been in with the cyclopses and they hate me, half an hour and the bronze one didnt even drop....that was no breaks constant killing. so it kinda put me off a bit.

 

 

 

is there really nothing else but greens and ankous?

Not that i know of melee wise, but aviansies are good for ranging. Also try planting herb seeds for money. Could turn that 500k cash pile into 1.7m in a week or so. Ranarrs are the lowest level required herb, but i know toadflax seeds are the cheapest, and in 100 seeds i made 1.2m after selling them.

 

 

 

And for the Defender thing, it takes time to get them as drops. Make sure you talk to the lady outside to get drops and make sure to show them to her after you get one dropped.

yeah i go back and do a bit every now and then, usually fight the armours, either mith or black depending on how i feel lol... getn300 in no time for half hour stints in with em, anything more gets depressing when they dont drop.

 

 

 

and i do know about talking to her to get teh next lv ones to drop, its jsut gettting the bronze one to drop int he first place :D

Ya it does get a little depressing not getting them. But once you get the bronze-black/mith defenders, the last ones seem to come by faster then the first ones. Also it not half bad exp while waiting for the defender. The Str stat of the def is the same as ur shield. Just the Attack bonuses of the defender blow the Obby shield out of the water.

GWD for rare drops.

 

 

 

Those are 3 known melee options I always felt I came out with a + in my moneybag.

 

 

 

Some people like barrows, I hardly go there as the chest doesn't drop anything for me.

i doubt im strong enough for gwd tbh..barrows is a possible though, done a few runs and did enjoy it. just never melee'd it as i was always under the impression i needed like 80+cb stats.

That's either really bad luck, or you're just not seeing it when it does drop. Make sure you right-click every drop, since you won't be able to see the defender on the screen. The bones cover it.

First of all, your equipment is so nostalgic to me. At level 80-100 i killed Tzhaar monsters with pretty much that same gear.

Slayer is certainly an excellet choise for exp and cash as you level 3 skills at once. But before you make up your mind i will let you in on the world of zamorak warriors. In the chaos tunnels you will find a room with 7 of them, multi all aggresive. They barely hit u any damage. They drop rune scims and dags at a rediculously good rate. my best is 500k in rune scims and dags in one hour. You average about 250k an hour at your stats and gear. Honoustly it is awesome. About a 22-48 second walk from edge bank too!! If you would like to know more post here and i will answer any questions u have. p.s the zammys drop lobbies and bones so when u run out of food u can pick up lobbies and stay longer or use bones to peaches tabs. Good luck with whatever u choose to do.

well the point of the post was cashflow tbh, ive done a bit of skilling and find it, while effective to get a little ont he boring side, you know clck a tree, click a fishing spot etc...i know xcombats not a great deal better depending on what your fighting but its just more fun for me, as a personal thing.

 

 

 

if i had to pick 1 then it would def be the cash atm, theres a few things i want and would like the cash to make the training easier atm so it would def be that. im happy with my exp atm having 70+ int he cb's was my main goal so thats that, now i need money,i just have half decent melee gear now and would like to use the whip i so wanted to make me that money :D

 

 

 

and please tellme more of these warriors of zamorak :D they sound interesting.

zamorak warriors are found in the chaos tunnels like he said. teleport to edge. then go i think north? not sure anyway head towards the wildy

 

like lvl 3 and u see a crevice, go down and the go to the first portal u see by the gargoyals, then u wind up at some skeletons this is where u take the next portal right beside the one u are in. now head across the moss giants to the far portal,u should wind up right beside the 7 zammy warriors but ur actually in the room next to it. just take the closest portal to them and ta da. you are there.

 

 

 

bring alch runes and if u plan on camping bones to peaches

thanks for the advice but i found an easy way to em too,

 

 

 

go down the middle crevice jsut above the river, you will be in a large cave filled with rock crabs, go north west to a protal that will take you to a room full of fire giants, run straight through them to the other side then the next room will take you toa small room full of these guys.

 

 

 

liking it so far, they drop faster than ankous and had a rune scimmy within my first ten min of killing, along with 3 rune daggers....may start to compose a guide for anyone else interested, just give me some time free lol.

yes you can, i was gonna suggest these to you with your other topic but im here now and in the last...45 min ive got 80k in items :D

 

 

 

its a decent place after the initial auto aggro wears off you just leisurely kill em for god knows how long

 

 

 

they drop rune daggers a fair bit, had about 6 or 7, and 2 rune scimmys, a few addy longs as well im alching, got b2p tabs so camping here for a bit :D use my directions for an easy trip to em too

Also, if you feel like splurging a bit, I'd recomend dragon boots; there's really no reason not to have them at your stats.

 

Maybe rfd for good gloves? Really your armour is fine for your level.

 

On the money side of things, I'm a big slayer, and monsters that I've really seen turn a profit are basilisks and turoths. While the extra equipment may seem annoying, they more than make up for it in drops.
