rakaminko
Well, since I'm f2p, I plan on superheating a lot but I don't know which ore to superheat for a balance of best mage exp, best smithing, and smallest loss possible(profit is good too :)) Should I use addy or mith bars(stats in sig). The_Fray
Using mithril bars, according to current prices you lose about 27 gp. Using adamantite bars you lose about 24 gp. I think I have all the calculations right. In making your decision consider that with mithril, you have to bank less but with adamantite you get more smithing experience. I would go with mithril simply because it involves much less banking.
RyderJ
Keep in mind you can superheat 5 mithril bars per load (150 xp) and only 3 addy per load (112.5 xp). And since superheat is so fast to cast, most of your time is spent banking. Go for mith. More exp per hour, and slightly cheaper. It's what I used to get 90 magic and 75 smithing. ladycai
I would say addy. It is more clicking, but it also sells much easier than mith bars. :\ 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]

ladycai
Pretty much so. Maybe it's my addy plate alch madness that biased me to my answer :P I don't really see how mithril bars sell so easily though, the only times I buy them is to make arrowtips/bolt tips. 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
kdb148
Addy. Once you get good at banking, the more frequent banking won't slow you down much at all. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
Jaffy1
I've done a lot of mining/smithing and superheating in my time as a f2p player. If you decide to smith the bars you're using as well, make sure you can make platebodies and then alc those. If you decide on making bars only while buying the ores - go for adamantite. If you decide to go for max xp in the 3 skill mentioned above, while also getting profit (this is what I did), I would recommend buying mithril or adamantite ores only, bringing those into the mines where you mine coal, mine coal while superheating and brining an almost full inventory of bars back to bank for smithing. Superheating in the mines will allow you to mine between 80-120 coal before banking, and it's by far the fastest way to train mining/smithing in f2p without wasting enormous amounts of money. ilovecardj
Mithril bars over addy bars for sure. another thing to note is iron ore superheating is pretty darn good exp. its like 30k exp more an hour then mithril in mage exp, and 10k or so less in smithing. It costs more, but in terms of raw mage exp its pretty good. like 90k an hour or so Dragon Drops: 80+ boots, 7 med, 3 skirt, 2 left half, 2 Spear, 2 2hSlayer: 30+ whips, 4 Bows, 1 Mask, 3 Granite Legs, 1 Visage (Wyverns)Notable GWD Splits: Bandos Tassets: 12, Bandos Chest: 11, Bandos Hilt: 2Proud Slayer of 99 Att/Str/Def/HP/Range/Summoning
