Question to all:

My Bio teacher said being gay is in the genetics, what do you guys think?

Then how has it not been bred out.

Same reason why sickle cell anemia and cystic fibrosis hasn't been bred out probably.

Sickle cell doesn't prevent you from breeding, and is actually beneficial in some environments, as it prevents I believe malaria. Cystic fibrosis I don't know enough about to answer though. But gay people in theory don't have kids. So how do the gay genes get passed on?

Surrogates and recessive genes.

So why wasn't gayness bred out in the millions of years before surrogate parenting? Even being recessive it should have been. There's 0 advantage to it as a species.

Luck of the draw dictates that the gene survived. There are probably a bunch of other genes that have already been bred out of existence. Besides, in the olden times being gay didn't necessarily mean you didn't have a sexual relationship with someone of the opposite sex.

In order for someone to have sickle cell anemia, they would need both genes. It could go the same way in terms of sexuality. Cystic fibrosis patients typically die around 20 although medical advancements have prolonged this...

Thing is, it's a very difficult concept to understand. I know for certain it is not a choice, but something causes it to happen. Thing is it could be with DNA (pretty much the same but the subtle differences change the amount of certain proteins from bring produced - could inhibit production of certain hormones or proteins for certain areas if the brain to develop) or sociology (if someone was raised in a troubled childhood, and their only companions were close friends, who knows?) Overall, it is easy to say it is a choice and move on, but if it really isn't then there is nothing that can be done to change it. Sure they can get married, or have kids, but would they really be happy? Being forced to be anything you're really not or don't want isn't really fair.

It also would mean if anyone found out you would get lynched. Regardless, I don't think it's genetic. I personally think it's a hail mary attempt to "justify" or rationalize it.

It could really go either way. I think it is genetic, but sometimes social conditioning drives people to experiment with other sexualities before settling on one.

It really isn't wrong either way, in my eyes. You go to bed with whoever you want to go to bed with.

I can't find those at all. I might visit Best Buy to see.

try a convenience shop at a gas station or something, I'd tell you where i got mine but it's only in America :(

Nex is a PS3 player. This makes me not love him as much as I did before.

@Dax: It means I can't play with him. :(

Well, unless he gets CS:GO.
