My bill at the end of last semester was $28,456.00 (that's how much last semester cost). Of course, I paid it with grants and loans and scholarships. I don't know how much I will actually have to pay eventually.

My god man, just for one semester?

I don't understand why this country praises debt as a good thing.

I was just wondering, it's really weird how different our schooling systems are.

College is free for us if we're 19 or under but apparently your college is akin to our university.

No wonder I see so many wankers in our colleges and sixth forms.

Yeah. Our college = your university.

I go to a school called "Purdue University" and I am in the "College of Heath and Human Sciences." So us Murrikans are attending a university, but we just like to call it "college" for some reason.

"In the US, there is very little difference academically between a "college" and a "university." In the US, the terms are synonymous; other countries use "college" to refer to some secondary schools, but "university" is always used to mean an institution of tertiary education and higher learning. Universities are usually larger and often contain multiple "colleges" within them. However, some of the top-ranked schools in the US have a name including "college" (e.g., Dartmouth College). In other parts of the English-speaking world, the term "university" equates to the US use of "college" and the term "college" refers more to a trade or vocational school.

I keep getting weird looks from people. It is probably the fact that I'm wearing my 1950s motorcycle goggles. I just laugh when the snowy hurricane blows small pieces of ice into their eyes causing them to wince in agony and blindness.

Go in debt now, get a good education, get a great job, pay off debt in a reasonable amount of time.

Seems like it is a working plan. I'd rather be in debt now with a fantastic job lined up than otherwise.

There's two ways of seeing this:

Your 'joking' wasn't funny.

Your level humor is above ours.
