June 13, 200917 yr As much as I hate to promote people camping at abyssal demons: Neitznot Fire cape Fury bandos > barrows top bandos > barrows bottom whip rune defender dragon boots barrows gloves zerker/wealth (makes little difference) Take a few bunyips and a few pure sets and that's all you need really.
June 13, 200917 yr Author Thought it would be harder than that ... :ohnoes: Is ranging effective? 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
June 13, 200917 yr If you mean safely ranging, then no, since you cant safespot them because the demon will teleport you or itself withing melee range of it ;) PROUD Owner of Quest cape since 12/25/08 99 Attack Achieved 6/5/09Drops: Dragon Boots x5, Dragon Chainbody x1 (Dusties) Abyssal Whip x3, Abyssal Head x1Best single TT Reward: Saradomin Platebody + Zammy Page 3
June 13, 200917 yr at you level you can definatly range them, just bring normal range gear plus a stong shield like a dfs
June 14, 200917 yr Using Void+DFS. I can safely kill them with the use of a bunyip to heal. But i was also 90 defense at the time. I also use the Enhanced Excalibur to heal and boost my defense stats as well. June 14, 200917 yr I've heard of people ranging Abby Demons with a crystal bow, but I don't know how effective it is. June 14, 200917 yr Basically, my preferred setup now is: Neitiznot Torag's Body Torag's Legs Glory "Barrows" Glove Skill Cape (Fire Cape if you have it) Dragon Boots Wealth Weapon is Sara Sword. If you are at least 69 Summoning, take two Bunyip Pouches and two pure sets. Along with a couple monkfish, just in case. (Normally, I take 5, but I stay over my Bunyips then). June 14, 200917 yr I've heard of people ranging Abby Demons with a crystal bow, but I don't know how effective it is. That was how you pretty much had to kill them before the accumulator, because picking up all your arrows made it worthless. How to Chin Nechyraels for fast XP and profit
June 14, 200917 yr Just as the title says ... I just got 85 Slayer, and I'd like to camp there for a while  Any advice welcome. SETUP 1: STRENGTH BONUS This equipment setup is ONLY smart to use if you want the extra +6 strength bonus from Bandos chestplate and tassets. I do not recommend replacing Bandos chestplate with Fighters torso. Bandos melee defense is good but it's not the best. Helm of neizinot Amulet of fury Bandos chestplate Bandos tassets Fire cape>Trimmed skillcape Abyssal whip w/Rune defender Dragon boots Ring of wealth Barrow gloves Healing source: Bunyip/Unicorn/Elemental titans Other: Super strength and attack I recommend this if you have Bandos armor already. It's very good. SETUP 2: BEST MELEE DEFENCE Helm of neizinot Amulet of fury Torag/Dharok/Guthan platebody Torag/Dharok platelegs (Guthan skirt has weaker defence) Fire cape>Trimmed skillcape Abyssal whip w/Rune defender Dragon boots Ring of wealth Barrow gloves Healing source: Bunyip/Unicorn/Elemental titans Other: Super strength and attack Just as good setup as the one above. This setup is recommended if you have very high smithing level (80+ - barrow repair). SETUP 3: ALTERNATIVE Helm of neizinot Amulet of fury Guthan platebody Guthan's chainskirt Fire cape>Trimmed skillcape Abyssal whip w/Rune defender Dragon boots Ring of wealth Barrow gloves Healing source: Bunyip/Unicorn/Elemental titans Other: Super strength and attack Guthan's helm and warspear Decent setup that is very good for camping. When you need healing you equip full Guthan set. SETUP 4: RANGED "If you strike hard, you won't have to strike again" Void knight helm Amulet of fury Void knight top Void knight bottom Snakeskin boots Rune crossbow w/Broad bolts Ava's accumaltor Unholy book Ring of wealth Healing source: Bunyip+Guthan set Other: Ranging potions Ranging Abyssals are great, because that way you don't have to run up close them to attack them. That is a great advantage because 1) At tower you get Abyssal demons easy 2) At Abyssal realm you can get a Abyssal demon on you before a "Abyssal walker "(aggressive) attacks you. Ranging works, but not to the extend that it beats melee

Can you see a big difference in attack damage/consistency between them? First of all let me say that Karil is good but: 1) It has great magical and ranged defense (More than d hide) but not more melee defense than it 2) It degrades so use dragon hide As for Void i find it great, i hit 30+ often where with Dragonhdie/Armadyl i hit 20s more. It's not a MUST but if you can get it, it's good. Armadyl: Best ranged/magic and melee defense for a ranger + attack bonus Dragon hide : Best for melee monsters Karil: Best for Magic and Ranged monsters if you don't got Armadyl
June 14, 200917 yr Only use Karils on tasks that you need mage defense. Like Aberrant Spectres. Other wise Black D'hide will suffice. Void would be better tho. And with Karil you have to worry about the set degrading.
