July 6, 200917 yr Hey guys, a while ago I decided to make a pure so I could actually stand a chance in pvp \ . Now I need some help. Combat Lv: 58 Whenever I go into pvp I never do too well. At this level G maul finishers seem to reign supreme. But there's also the range pures with 75+ range that give me trouble. :wall: I want to know if I'm doing anything wrong, and if/when 60 Atk pures become good for pking. Im also not sure about... ~Should get 31, 34, or 43 pray. ~Is Desert Treasure possible without prayer? :wall: ~Good place to get EP? ~Good spots to train range, str, etc. In the end i plan that his stats will be like this: 60 atk 70+ str 70+ range 70 mage 1 def prayer ??? #-o hp around 67 BTW he's done MM and lost city. July 9, 200917 yr 60 attack pures are supreme at around 70+ combat. And either get 31 prayer or 44 prayer. you're going to mostly be fighting other pures so 34 prayer is pointless.
July 9, 200917 yr That isn't a pure, it's a hybrid. Pures are pure in one skill only, for example if all your skills were 1, with 70 Range, you would be pure. However, you also need to remember that stats aren't everything. Some people just can't PK. They get too worked up, and can't focus and/or don't know what to do.

No. Did you play Classic, which is where the term "pure" derives? Not only did I play it, I was pure on it. Most pures had ranged and strength.
July 18, 200916 yr Get 70 strength. Your damage dealer probably matters less than the actual KO, so you can do pretty well with your range atm. O.O

The main question is: Should I get my prayer up to 43??? 31 is fine, but I think 43 would help alot, for one thing it would be easier to get away from rushers and pjer's. I have lost way too much cash to them... :wall: . Also when fighting someone with defence the protect prayers block 50% of non-npc attacks, so it would be almost like having some def. So instead of being hit everytime and not getting much chance to attack I could get more hits in. Another thing that would be good is I could complete Desert Treasure easily (I know you dont need pray but I dont think I'd be able to do it) and get ice burst, which would further help me take down Def ppl in armour. :D BTW: I would get 1 cmb lv to get 43 pray. :ohnoes: So... what do you guys think? Is it worth it? Other questions: 1: Is superheating a good way to get to 55 mage? If so, what should I superheat to break even/ lose less? 2: Death plateau worth it? (climbing boots) Desert treasure can be done without prayer, but its significantly harder. I would personally get 44, its only one more prayer level but it gives you eagle eye. Death plateaus is worth it, i don't see why you would want to avoid it. Tabs are probably better, just go to the house party world and make camelot tabs, XP+money ftw. Get addy gloves if you can, they not TO hard to get, but the prerequisites are annoying. O.O
July 25, 200916 yr 43 prayer for sure At your current mage lv, failcasting spells in FoG is fairly efficient. Also, I must recommend that you not stop at 70 mage, especially if you plan to get high range. If you plan to train range up, you can alch or use other non-cmb spells to train mage up. I'd recommend, in the long run, getting to 94 mage. Vengeance will give a good advantage in p2p pvp, and range/mage hybriding is fairly effective from what I've heard :P
July 27, 200916 yr Oops. Didn't know that #-o But still, I'd recommend gradually raising your mage, so mages will splash their spells on you more often. No need to put focus on this though. Also, you must've realized by now the reason you were getting ripped so much when you were 60-63 - your att:str ratio was way too low. By the time you reach 90 str though, you may consider getting 70 att for increased accuracy (Barrows weapons too) or even 75, if you have the funds to use a Godsword.

August 2, 200916 yr K, you said you have 70 str now which is a must-have. I'd say get 60+ mage asap, good resist is needed. 75 range would be nice also but not needed. stick to 31 or 44 pray for a looooong time as others said. IDK too many good training spots myself, so I'm sorry for that. Decent stats. There isn't much you've done wrong with your pure tbh...
August 2, 200916 yr Btw, the main advantage of having higher hp is that they can't tell as easily when it's good to ko you. I get called a safer (on ftp, members safing shouldnt matter) all the time for it on my pure.. I die anyway though.
