hiimben
Are you sure it wasn't magnesium? For some reason I thought it was also. It was phosphorus. I liked the movie, however a few points could have been worked on. It's been said but Bruno wasn't as likeable a character as Borat, and there really needs to be more of a reason for us to approve of his shenanigans. And, as has been said on some of the other reviews i've read, some scenes could have been developed more. For example, I would have liked to have seen a bit of clever dialogue in the Ron Paul scene, but it seemed a bit rushed. Eitherway, whether it was because I was in a good mood when I saw it or not, I feel the film isn't a Disappointment, and personally think its on par with Borat. Racheya
I haven't actually seen any of the movies, but is it true that Cohen dresses up as the character and talks to random people, and just throws that footage into movie form? I wouldn't say 'throws' rather 'cleverly crafts'. I love his movies, he's got serious balls to do some of the things he does and they truly hilarious. I'm still waiting to see Bruno, I've been grumbling at all the Bruno posters since it came out because I can't watch it in the cinema since it's an 18. I'm going to have to resort to other means. I loved Borat. I've never gotten around to seeing Ali G though, I think that's high on my movie priorities. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator]. Verminox
Its cert. 15 now. They cut out 1 min 50 secs which gave it the 18 certificate. Edit: July 24th when it gets re-released.

Well the ron paul scene was without ron paul knowing who it was at all, but it could have been expanded upon a bit. Hegemony-Spain

Tbh I might go see the 15's version in the cinema too. It was great  I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator]. Worst part in Aus was the swingers party (and possibly the dancing penis) Was that too? Anyway I have to say Sacha is a better actor than even Tom Cruise and the like. I mean, he's definitely the king of comedy in like the last 10 years. I dont need a siggy no moar.
whocares
I liked Borat better, but Bruno was funny as well. I like Cohen, he's doing something that's not done often which is refreshing with all these unoriginal movies.
Harakiri
My friend went to see it and said that it wasn't that funny. He pushed it into peoples faces that he was gay, people didn't care, and he continued to push it til it wasn't funny.

He pushed it into peoples faces that he was gay, people didn't care, and he continued to push it til it wasn't funny. That seems amazingly incorrect.. First of all, he pushed his gayness into peoples faces alot, yes, but most of the time they cared.. ALOT. I dont need a siggy no moar.

Saru Inc
It hasn't got a scratch on Borat, but that's not to say that it isn't a good film. Borat was so original that everything he did was unexpected and therefore more fun. Bruno's script is so messed up that it takes away from the enjoyment of the film. The karate scene and the 'Bruno's TV show' are my favourite bits, which made me laugh, other scenes such as the swingers party, army, made me force laughs. The most shocking part of the movie wasn't the excessive penis exposure or gay sex, it was the American moms and dads who would do anything to get their toddler on television.. forcing a kid to lose weight is child abuse imo. So true. My umm.. subordinate? I guess, she works for me, and her mom forced her to quit, because even though she had a boyfriend, she was too fat so she'll never get married. She was already a stick. She literally had no fat on her. Her mom now makes her go to the gym for 6 hours a day. That's [bleep]ed up imo. I watched Bruno. Wasn't very good, of course the movie was in half English, half German (I saw boot leg) so that might be why. I loved the talk show part, but some stuff was dumb. Simply because they were trying to hard to offend people. I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. assassin_696
Just seen it, it was okay, but I thought Borat was better. I think he's a very clever guy and bits of it were very good (getting that woman to talk about her interest in human rights when sitting on Mexican immigrants) but in bits it just seemed like he was going for cheap shock value for the hell of it. And yeah, there were quite a few scenes i'm not going to remember in a hurry. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
