I was thinking of getting full veracs recently (thanks to the input on another help and advice topic of mine), and I was wondering, is it better than a whip in certain situations? For example, against a high defence monster/player, would veracs be better than a whip, or against a player with prayer? Any help would be much appreciated.

 

 

 

EDIT:NO I mean for offensive capabilities! Of course great armor would be better than a good weapon without anything else. I mean would the effect of veracs be better offensively than a whip at all?

this is try if you use just a whip. but imo a whip+defender beats all other combos

I think you took that the wrong way. He probably means whip and no armor or full veracs

Whip + defender and good armour (void melee maybe? just a thought) is a pretty sweet combination. Veracs is alright, beats a whip just by itself, but with the right gear whips are teh pwnage :P

Well, if you are finding you are hitting too many 0s on a monster with a whip, it might be a good idea to switch to Veracs.

Don't forget the loss of attack speed.

Whip is better for training and such. Veracs is for boss hunting like kalphite queen.

Some use only the skirt for when they have something else to use such as when range tanking, or killing certain bosses such as Arma or Bandos. Some use the fighters torso with it, some use the Bandos Chest piece. I say to get the Whip and use Veracs brassard and skirt. A Neitz helm is cheaper and gives some better stats. The flail isnt that good of a weapon either.

SO i say get whip and make some money for veracs.

Veracs is nice, but the rare places it was good its now 2nd best.

 

The only boss which I would consider veracs over whip would be the giant mole.

 

KQ, whip (or GS) and rune cbow with diamond (e) bolts makes for a faster kill and you can use a shield for both meaning you last longer.

 

All the other bosses are better tackled with whip+rune defender or whip+shield or using other methods altogether.

 

 

 

Barrows is ok with veracs if your 90+ melee stats but most perfer the easier more cost effective maging option.
